if we hadn't fought before," Helena replied calmly, not backing
down.
"Not long ago, that would have been all the reason I needed to
fight you even if it meant dying. But now..." Helena frowned,
like she was having trouble finding words.
"If you aren't checked...you will hurt Kagero. And I...don't
want her to be hurt."

"But my emotions are what guide me, and I trust them. I sought
battle because I knew it brings me joy. I will protect her from
you because I feel a connection to her. I need no further reason

Helena moved with precise speed, but Malkos was faster; her
block was imperfect, protecting her life but still leaving a
wound on her back.
"I have never cared about the plans of the gods. If that is what
guides you, there is little we have to say to each other," she
remarked, sounding disappointed as she struck at Malkos through
the pain.

He went for a fatal cut but Kagero jumped on his back and yelled

"Kagero!" Helena cried in alarm, a flash of foreboding going
through her at the sight of them together.
"Hang in there, Priestess!" Lacrima huffed, rushing over and
trying to hex the sword out of Malkos's hands.

A blessing repelled the curse as if it was nothing, but Malkos
took no job in the action.
He shook Kagero off and went for a lunge at Lacrima
But Olivia jumped into the way of the blade, taking a stab to
the stomach for Lacrima as she pushed the little necromancer out
of the way.

"Olivia!" Lacrima gasped, going pale with horror at the sight of
Olivia's wound.
Armani rushed to Olivia's side as well, fighting aside some of
Malkos's supporters and his own panic.
"OLIVIA!"
