"When the king is gone, take the throne and declare himself
king." Floriana shrugged. "He's got the power to do it, too.
Plenty of the knights are with him." She noted Armani didn't
look surprised to hear that.
"But what was he planning in particular?" Claudia demanded.
"You think he'd tell me any more than I needed to know?"
Floriana sighed.
"You're part of his plans, aren't you?"
"Listen to the words I'm saying. I know it's hard but I know you
have enough in that pretty little head to follow along,"
Floriana snapped, growing irritable. "All he wanted from me was
to stay the hell out of his way and keep quiet. The only reason
I'm saying anything now is because soldier boy here came to
tattle and now you're all in danger."

Olivia frowned "Why did you agree to such a plan?! They would

"He never said anything about killing her!" The words tore out
without any of Floriana's usual cynicism or control.
"Maybe he didn't. But he fully intends to," Armani muttered.
Floriana, for once, didn't have a response, just looking lost.
She didn't even defend herself when Claudia pinned her to the
wall.
"Do you have nothing to say for yourself? Keeping quiet and
pretending not to know anything while people plotted against the
princess?! Gods above, I should kill you!"

"Claudia, stop!" Altara insisted, getting between the two.
"...Teacher......"
Looking down, Altara asked "Why did you join Malkos? Do you
dislike me?"

"Why are you..." Floriana still looked lost.
"That's not...you dislike me! You never wanted me as your
teacher! You were going to send me away when you became queen!"
"It doesn't look like she doesn't like you to me..." Lacrima
muttered, glancing at Altara's expression.
"You shouldn't stand up for her, Princess," Claudia gritted out,
restraining her anger with only great difficulty. "She's a
selfish, spiteful drunk."

"..." Claudia turned away, a sharp exhale being her only
disagreement with Altara's decision.
To Armani's profound astonishment, Floriana held Altara's gaze
for a long, tense moment before she broke down crying, slumping
against a wall.
"Y-You–hic–st-tupid kid...saying th-th-things like that with
a–hic straight face..."
"Huh. The court wizard's kinda a crybaby, huh?" Lacrima asked,
looking up at Olivia. "Does she do this often?"

"I didn't really talk to her before" Olivia confessed.
Altara patted Floriana on the back with a small smile.
She turned to Armani
"Ok, I'll agree with your plan.....Just as long as we can make
this without blood"

"I doubt any of us could fight Malkos anyway." Armani admitted,
remembering countless disasters.
"My hope is that once you are the queen Malkos will relent and
stand down. I don't know what to do about the ones that agreed
to help him overthrow you, but that will be for Your Majesty to
decide. I just want to stop this coup before it happens, and
Malkos's respect for the throne is the only thing I can think
of."
