"Understood, but it does not change my question. You feel
attached to this...very small young woman, yes?" Helena asked.
"I'm not that small..." Lacrima mumbled, finding she didn't like
that any better than "child."

that was actually true but really hoping it was.
"Well, I am Kagero's partner in this matter. You do understand."

Lacrima huffed, crossing her arms proudly, but she paused after
a moment and looked at Kagero. She bit her lip, and then stepped
a little closer.
"I'll accept your apology. In return...b-be my friend." She
huffed, still trying to sound tough as she awkwardly offered
Kagero her hand.
