Unsteady Flight

Floriana rushed around her chambers, packing in some haste and
lamenting the irony of her situation.
She'd made decisions she now regretted because she'd been so
fearful that she'd failed as a teacher and was going to be
kicked out of the palace one day soon if she didn't do
something. Now, when conscience had finally gotten the better of
her, she was left scrambling to pack anyway; Altara was getting
ready to flee the castle if she had any sense at all, and
Floriana knew it was time for her to follow suit. No matter how
this mess turned out, she knew there wasn't going to be any
place for her at court anymore; she'd have to seek her fortune
elsewhere, preferably somewhere far away from Malkos.
She really needed a drink, but she was so irate with herself for
drinking her way through the last few weeks and letting things
get to this point in the first place that she flicked her wand
and sent the bottles of wine remaining in her room flying out
the window.
"I hope those don't land on anybody," she muttered, after it was
too late to stop them, but she didn't stop packing.

There was a nervous knock at the door as Arvic's voice called
out "F-Floriana. Open up"

Floriana flicked her wand, opening up the door, but her wand
remained pointed directly at it, and her hand did not tremble.
"Hello, Arvic."

"...I'm not sure I do, either, but I suppose I shouldn't keep
him waiting." Floriana muttered. Malkos had no reason to let her
go once only to kill her later. She could at least see what he
wanted.
