"I really hope she had the presence of mind to escape when she
heard what was happening..." Armani said, hobbling along towards
the throne room.

"I'm in no rush," Claudia said, glaring at Malkos.
She was in an advantageous position, holding some high ground
thanks to the throne room's steps. Her shield was readied, and
keeping Malkos talking gave the Princess a little more time to
escape. She had to assume Malkos was trying to bait her into
rushing down to take a swing at him because he'd observed the
same things.

rely on her eyes and tried to block the attack she knew was
coming by instinct.

legs

"!!" Claudia was cut on the leg by Malkos's attack, although she
swung her shield quickly to try and bash him in the face when
she saw where he was.

while her shield was out
