Problem with holding buttons on the Artist Pad
By: grosher Date: February 3, 2016, 12:00 am

Hello. I hope I can explain myself because my english is not
great.
When i use Zbrush i have an Alt button on my artist pad to
navigate. The thing is that i have to keep the button pressed
with my finger to pan, but when i press it and put the surface
pro 4 pen close the screen it "unprsses" itself for a second,
but enough to become a very annoying problem when working.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, i hope someone can come up
with a solution for this.
Thanks in advance.

Well, i got it working now. It seems like its not a problem of
Tablet Pro but from the hand rejection of Windows.
To make it work you have to go to Pen Settings on Windows and
switch it to left hand. That fixes the issue and makes the
"hold" buttons on the artist pad work like a charm.
Hope this helps someone.

Grosher, this is true but switching the pen option causes other
issues. un-wanted palm presses.
The other option is to use the modifier buttons to be 'toggles'
press its on press again its off like how capslock works. This
works however it requires a different thought process when
working.
I wish there was a better solution.

I'm having lots of problems with this issue as well. It's
killing me in Photoshop when retouching. When using the healing
brush tool I need to sample patches of skin by pressing the alt
key. That can easily be over a hundred samples and the current
solution to toggle the alt button slows thing down to an
unacceptable level. I'll try the left hand fix and hope not too
many other problems come about.

I tested the right to left hand pen setting and it does take
care of the holding button issue but adds a new dealbreaker for
me. The touch slider, using Frame(with R-drag), that I use for
changing the brush size stops working when in left hand mode. I
switch back to right hand and it works. Also the palm rejection
stops working properly and your hand starts clicking on all
sorts of things. No good at all.

I've tried setting mine to left as well, but still have no luck.
When i bring the pen close to the screen it triggers a click or
something, and releases the alt button being held down.
