       Sypno Corp History
By: LightSephiroth Date: December 13, 2012, 9:35 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
*As posted on our previous forum from 2009 and 2012
I0N: Well some members of the guild have been asking me about
Sypno Corp and how it began. Imod recently said he read an old
recruit thread on TOP forums about Sypno Corp I-II and asked me
to write a biography on the rich history of the previous Sypno
Corp Guilds so i will write one right now xD.
Pre-Sypno Corp Era As many of you know, i started TOP in May
2007 when Mermaid server first opened. I was a pure noob with no
prior experience on TOP. My first character was Sypno (SS) who i
completely messed up with. The times were completely different.
There was no hex, 2x-3x exp days, no lvl 80s, Unseal 45s were
considered rare and unseal 65 were rarer than rare. Guilds had
just began developing like Adament, SaKura and GranDma and
everything was just amazing to me. At around the first week of
playing, i met another SS named Keket. We quickly became pals
and raised our lvls together with other friends we had met. Our
group of friends back then wanted to find a guild where we could
lvl together and find more friends. However since we were still
newbies (around lvl 40, Aegis were 60) the 2 guilds we applied
to, AzureLegends and Sakura didn't take us. So Keket and I
decided we would make a guild which did not discriminate against
lvl. We would take anyone who was willing to get better and
       together we could make a........corporation.
Sypno Corp Is Born! Keket and I worked our asses off to get
100k, which back then was like having 5m in todays currency. We
got a Stone of Oath which cost 500k-800k and only one thing
stood in our way. The guild spots were full. There was a recent
rise in new guilds (Animus, VandalBusters, etc) so the spots
were full. We waited patiently for a few weeks camping next to
the icicle guy Mas until finally one day we were able to make
it. And Sypno Corp was born!
Now Keket and I had planned many features which we quickly
installed into our guild system. The Knight Rook system, the
Guild Stall, Monthly salary system. In this Corp I had
personally recruited many people. I would go to Silver Mine 1
and ask people to join. Believe it or not back then there was no
plvling. People went to the mines and asked for a party to lvl
with. It was here that i recruited Fruitty, a guy named Stax
(which led me to inuyashagirl) and plenty other players which
many of you know. Now this Sypno Corp grew extremely fast. Our
"Accept anyone, Work together" mentality spread and we were the
"It" guild. We had a system of monthly salary too. Every member
would donate things to the guild store and every end of the
month we would distribute the money to the members according to
their lvl (Knight Rook system). It was at this time that a
crusader named Stax began to work his way up. He gained my trust
and i assigned him the role of guild banker even after i had
been warned by some Animus leaders. I had a mutual friendship
with Wilde, Mirror, and Etna because at the time Animus and
Sypno Corp were on par lvl wise.
This Stax eventually betrayed my trust and ran away with the
guild treasury. We lost all the guild's money and Sypno Corp had
it's first enemy. Now it wasn't all bad. It was also this time
       that the guild evolutionized to......
Sypno Corp TOP Mafia This was the highest point Sypno Corp had
ever reached. We were the bad boys of Mermaid. Everyone wanted
to be us. Players not in our guild literally trashed us in World
every single day because they were jealous. Kuwan, Shishi,
jeffreyholden, EclipseTheSecond, Sindi, Killer were all part of
this era. Animus swapped members with us (JohnnyJohnny,
       Inuyashagirl, Crystalsun and many others).

       Rangers"

We developed guild rivalries with The AlphaBetawerewolf Navy
Guilds which in my opnion was still the best guild rivalry
Mermaid has ever seen. Those guys truly hated us because we had
become so popular in the server. It was also at this time that
personalities began to develop. Members were becoming
increasingly hard for Keket, KatieRyusen (One of the leaders)
and me to keep under control. Eventually everyday was a
personality fight. And Sypno Corp was eating itself from the
inside. It had been 5 months and i had grown tired and decided
to give the guild up. EclipseTheSecond, Inuyashagirl, Fruitty
had gained notority around Mermaid and in Sypno Corp so i handed
Sypno Corp's slot for them to make DarkStarz.
Probably one of the greatest things i have personally
experienced was when Aegis leader/elder Maokat pmed me to talk
one night. I was surprised because Aegis usually don't initiate
contact with people (except ITDA) and she and I talked late into
the night and i realized she was just a regular player with
friendships, training just like i was. She gave me many tips on
how Aegis became successful with the "Core" and leader councils
and i felt like "Wow i must have did something right for her to
acknowledge me." Another great boost for me was when the
future-Aegis Katie pmed Sypno to talk. She had said she truly
believed that if anyone had a chance at #1 it wasn't Animus, it
       was Sypno Corp.

Now Mermaid had a long stretch without a Sypno Corp. I had began
my switch from SS to Crus (AlexTheGreater) and had no time to
lead any guild at all. I went to my friend's guilds which
included SwordsNRoses, Guardian (Shishi's Guild) and AznClan.
Kagome aka Lennia and i had been friends during the Sypno Corp I
days. SNR had been allies with me for as long as i've been in
TOP. Azn Clan lead by Ray1 had been one of my great pals dating
back from his old days as Navy 21 (DeathKnights) leader. It's in
Azn Clan that i met his sister and one of my most trusted
friends,xMinhx. My best friend Kuwan had taken a leave of
absence because of school and Shishi had left for medical
reasons. I took two months off from the game myself and thought
i was done for good. But i couldn't stay away (Good thing i
didn't). When i returned i was determined to make things
       different this time.
Sypno Corp II: The Age of Crusaders Now i remade Sypno Corp
because I was ready this time. I had become the Crusader I0N
which was light years better than my first crus. I had swore
that recruitment this time would be more specific and i would
have more control of the guild and it would not die like last
time. Keket had made Nexus and a majority of old Corpers had
gone into her guild. This was a blessing in disguise. It allowed
me to recruit new members to the Corp. One of them was Zoriel.
This former Animus champ turned crusader quickly gained my trust
and together we assembled a pretty impressive guild. While our
popularity wasn't as high as it was in SC I, this guild was
serious. Our motto was "Lvl together, Rise together." And that
we did. We were lvling day after day and it was FUN. This group
had a great bond that was different from the first Corp. The
first Corp had a majority of people wanting to just play around
and do whacky stuff. This SC II was serious. Players like
       LuKaiHan, CrystalMaiden (WittleWabbit), Apologize (Tecno),
Lucario777, ChaosHuntress (SaintAjora) and other future good
players took things really serious. We had great crusaders at
this time. We did LT runs daily. Our goal was to all be 70+ and
we were really close to it.

We had some run ins with my former friend Karma Leader Voxin
however, which lead my account to being suspended for a few
days. He had used our friendship and similar to Stax, betrayed
my trust. Towards the end of SC II i had devoted much of my time
to trying to protect my account and my girlfriend from Voxin.
After many dirty tactics aimed at us, SC II had lost it's sight
of our goal because of the distractions.
One by one people began leaving. Some left for Dutch Clan,
others for Animus. Some reasons were for free items, some wanted
DW, others just wanted individual glory. Though we had become a
strong group, i felt we still were not ready for DW. Even today
i believe this group if they stayed together would have been the
greatest core of players i have yet to manage.
Not every member however wanted individual glory. There were
some who had strong loyalties to SC even till today, IceyMotto
(IceyDemon), ShunMei, Baxxter, Evilleeeee and DarkArcher777 and
a few others. Well at this time, the once DS strong Azn Clan had
been decaying as well and Julie, Ray and i decided to merge
Sypno Corp and Azn Clan to form CRISIS. It was at this time
however that Kuwan made her return. It certainly gave me a boost
for my best friend to return.

Just another member and Friend for Life CRISIS didn't work out
the way we wanted, Julie had to focus on school, and it went
downhill from there. The guild had become inactive and Kuwan, my
girlfriend Kimchii, and i decided to join another guild which we
thought was strong and we could help. That guild was Valentine.
We received a warm welcome and we made ourselves comfortable
there. I also began my insane lvling at this time. I no longer
needed to look after a guild. The Guild leader was Evil Soul and
his former Brotherhood guildie DyingInfinity. I could focus on
myself for the first time. I ascended and went all the way to
lvl 80, got my BOE, my Mordo Jr and for the first time in my 2
years on TOP, i had become a serious player. Well Valentine as
great personality wise was inactive and dying. DI and I gave
whatever we could to keep it alive. I was not a leader, but just
another member, and that's where i FINALLY understood what
       Maokat was telling me.
Quote:No one person can make a team work well. It takes everyone
to be successful. No one person is unimportant. They all have
their role. The leaders job is to watch, he isn't here to lead,
he's here to guide. Members are leaders, you just need to get
       them acquainted to your system.
Valentine disbanded for Brotherhood to be remade. Evil Soul had
been a mentor of sorts to me teaching me about fairy breeding
and crusader equipment. Our relationship however died with
Valentine. We had a disagreement the night he disbanded about
certain values in people that we saw differently from each
other. DI uninvertently asked me about remaking Sypno Corp, and
it had somewhat been in the back of my head. People who i did
not even know would pm me randomly and ask me to remake the
guild. This happen actually alot. My mindset at the time was
actually completely for it. DI and i had a great bond. She for
some reason knows exactly how i think. And i thought with her
helping along with a few other leaders i had in mind, the third
time could be a charm. Well it didn't start the way i planned.
Brotherhood had remade and gained huge numbers. DI of course had
strong loyalties to NightHero and i completely supported her
joining BH. She is one of my best friends regardless of what
       guild she's in.
Sypno Corp III: The Best of Both Worlds. A funny touching moment
happened here. I had sent out a mass email from sypnocorp forums
to registered members about a possible revival of SC and would
they be interested. Some i had not talked to in months. The
response was truly amazing. I had emails saying how Sypno Corp
was the only guild who believed in them when no esle would. Some
were estatic, others had already moved on to other parts in
their life but gave me their words of luck. Old friends had
touched me, and i knew SC did something other guilds didn't do.
So Sypno Corp was remade, and many of you reading this were here
       for it.

Zoriel came back from the dead. Kuwan was and always will be my
right hand, and DI had a change of heart and came over from BH.
The one thing that made me believe this guild had extreme
potential however was when xMinhx made her return. Now we truly
had a 5 man core which i trusted 100% to stick by me through
thick and thin. It also helped that they were all closing in on
lvl 80 as well! It didn't take long this time for SC to rise in
popularity. With DI managing and doing such a great job with our
forums, xMinhx handling our recruitment and Kuwan and Zoriel
handling our personality management, we've soared to new
heights. These leaders have allowed me to mold new members into
our system. I have already seen greater maturity and leadership
developing in members like Acuchillador, Kamino, Bandita and
many others. What made this guild even more special was the
return of former SC I and SC II members. The mesh of the family
loose atmosphere of SC I and the serious lvling of SC II has
made this guild a force led by the newly created Head
       Figure....SHEMP!

Committed To Excellence It took us literally a couple weeks
before we took off and Sypno Corp III became a hot guild once
again. SC had always been known for doing weird yet innovative
things. In SC I we had the Knight Rook System which gave players
salaries. No other guild has ever done something that
ridiculous. We took innovation to the next level in SC III. I
created a system called COTR (Corpers of the Round). It was a
recruiting system that followed judicial and legislative steps
to find us new guildmates. I believed it was a good way to give
every member a say. I also installed the scout system and the
tester system. We were really functioning like a
       corporation...and it was FUN!
Everyday we were excitted to log on to see one another. Lots of
new faces meshed with old faces. A few young guns at this time
were Imodium, Eark?, Elswordeo, LovesMaiden, and NeoFlySailor.
Following our tradition and what we stood for, lots of these
players were not elite. They were not mallers. They were not
experienced. They were good people. They were trustworthy
people. And at the end of the day, that was the only things that
ultimately mattered to me when accepting new
       family.

       />
We continued expanding and growing stronger. We had this
dedication. We wanted to get stronger, not for ourselves, but
for our guildmates. It was a time where our goals were to reach
lvl 80 and to Rebirth. WIth dominating guilds like Aegis,
Crimsons/Rebels running a strong monopoly hold, we had to work
hard. We loved working hard and we wouldn't have had it any
other way! Our quest started escalating when a few older players
joined us. Now we didn't accept a lot of strong players. When
Crimsons fell, many of them applied and wanted admitance into
Sypno Corp. We didn't neccesarily take them. It wasn't our way.
We weren't what they needed. The ones we did take, we felt
believed in Sypno Corp. They truely wanted to help us take that
next step. We took Klio, Shinobi81, ****Sohel, Go4Kill, Fam and
       Humbug (Buttons).
These older players taught many of us and guided us as mentors.
We owed them tremendously for their efforts. And while Klio did
eventually leave us for Aegis, these guys truely wanted us to
succeed with our goals. Without them, we may have never taken
that next step into making Sypno Corp the Corp wanted it to

The Stall That Started The Cold War Now things weren't always

together, we also had many fights, like all big families do.
Personalities clashed and guildies and their lifestyles
conflicted. Some players left, but we always welcomed them back
after they cooled off. Zoriel had his conflicts with a few
players and decided to take a break from the game. We needed a
new leading core. xMinhx came back to TOP and instantly gave us
a great experienced leader as well as a strong crusader. We gave
a young gun named Imodium a shot at running the guild alongside
DyingInifinty, xMinhx, and I0N. This leadership group stayed
together for quite some time. Eventhough some members decided to
leave to pursue other goals with other guilds, it was okay
becayse thats part of the process of growing up as a guild. You
lose guildmates, but you never really lose friends. Once a
corper always a corper. Or so I thought.

Every guild needs a brainiac. That person who has vast knowledge
of the game. The one you ask for advice. The one you trust. SC
III had a lvl 61 classless newbie named TheMaskedBandita who we
all went to for wisdom. This guy was amazing. He was a tactical
genious. He trained a newbie to be ready for when phyllis
crusaders would be released. He raised money somehow as a newbie
to get BOE's ready (about 60m a piece during this time). I was
so impressed with him! Silently and unoticably, he became the
voice in my right ear, advising me, giving me tactics.
Animus was dying. Every guild goes through stages of highs and
lows. It was sad seeing some of the older Animus players like
Mirrorlink and even their leader leave for Aegis. I felt a bond
with their new leader EtnaofDisgaea. I knew how he felt losing
important friends to guilds like Rebels and Aegis just as they
were closing in on reaching that next level as a guild. We
talked a lot. A lot more than we did in the past. We had mutal
respect for one another and that is always imporant when having
guild/guild relationships. I had recently acquired a buyout of
Navy 91, run by our close friend Umbrosia, and merged them into
SC, thus adding even more active players. We literally had close
to 70 or so players who actually played the game! It was an
amazing time. We were going up, Animus was going down...
Etna wanted to do something. He wanted to prove a point to
Mermaid server. He wanted everyone to know, Animus is strong.
Animus isn't going away. He was brilliant manipulator. He allied
himself with Rebels (the current #2 guild and unofficial
succesor of Crimsons), Dutchclan, Brotherhood and a couple
smaller navy guilds. Animus was also Sypno Corps ally since both
our guilds were made in the early days of Mermaid. SC backed
Animus, and they had our backs.
That was until Etna wanted to take Aegis down. He grabbed all
those guilds and declared war on the monopoly. And like all
those times before, he wanted Sypno Corp alongside Animus. But
unlike the past, this situation was different. Sypno Corp had
grown to new heights. We had goals. This was going to be a major
distraction. We were focused on Rebirth. Yes we lost lots of
great corpers to Aegis, but we didn't hate Aegis for that. Etna
truely despised Aegis. Don't get me wrong, SC wanted to
challenge Aegis. We just were smarter. We weren't ready. We
needed RB. We were closing in our our goal. We were so close. We
weren't going to let a personal vendetta distract us, so Sypno
Corp officially rejected a spot in The Alliance. Etna wasn't
happy about it. A part of me understood. Our relationship was
never going to be the same...
The Alliance lasted all but a month. The idea of having players
on different guilds switch back and forth with ally guilds,
sounds great in theory for DW, but it didn't execute well. It
was too messy. Animus took a huge blow. A few of their strongest
remaining members never switched back to Animus during their
"Revolution". Etna's plan had backfired on him. He was crushed.
He dissapeared for a few weeks.
Things got worse between Sypno Corp and Animus. Newbie
characters would flame us on World Chat. They were Animus alts.
Etna came back motivated. He switched his attention from Aegis
       to SC.
Rumors were flying spreading like wildfire. People with mocking
names of SC characters began popping up sparingly. Some corpers
scammed other corpers and would end up in Animus the next day.
It was a distracting time for us and I wanted it to be over. I
tried talking to Etna to settle it through conversation instead
of conflict. Of course that wouldn't work. He was losing his
mind. I was getting frustrated with his mind games. The breaking
point came one day when one of the last remaining Animus elders,
       Phyrain got scammed...
Now Phyrain is a good guy. He helped craft my 2nd BOE which
saved me literally 60+m way before all this conflict began . I
was indebted to him. After Phyrain was scammed, a great corper
who was one of the most repsected guys in all of mermaid, hshs,
bought some equipment from a stall. He estactic that he was able
to buy it for a slightly below average price. TheMaskedBandita,
who had told us Phyrain was his mentor (Bandita actually
introduced me to Phyrain) noticed hshs and his new look. He
claimed hshs had Phyrain's things. What a conflict we had. Yes,
it probably was Phyrain's equipment that hshs had bought. But
hshs had bought the stuff from a stall, like all players do. He
was not the one who scammed Phyrain. What was he to do? Give
       Animus the equipment back?
Etna demanded hshs give Phyrain his equipment back. I was deeply
conflicted...So like always I turned to my corpers for advice.
And who was there, in my right ear? TheMaskedBandita, like he
had been those past few months. He told me to take action. Be a
leader and have hshs give Phyrain his stuff back. hshs had
worked long and hard to earn that 120m to be able to buy those
BOEs and armor. Why should he be punished for Phyrain's
misfortunes? I told hshs it was his decision to make and no one
elses. I told him he should feel no guilt for whatever he
decided. He was leaning on giving everything back to Phyrain. He
would lose 120m because he was such a damn good man. I told him
to take a day to think it over before doing whatever he decided.
If Etna had waited just one more day...
Before hshs could give Phyrain back his equipment, Bandita, who
believed hshs was going to keep everything, was so ****ed off at
everyone, he blew up in guild chat. He cursed I0N out, he cursed
hshs, and he vowed to ruin Sypno Corp. TheMaskedBandita had been
Etna all along. The signs were there the entire time. In
hindsight, I had probably known deep down that Bandita was Etna
long ago before the conflicts even began. But I wanted so badly
for this to be the way they were during those happy early days
of Animus and Sypno Corp that I ignored it. It was a huge
critical mistake that I let him mess around in SC for that long.
He did major damage. And even to this day, I regret not pulling
my friendship with Animus sooner. I cost SC valuable time by
trying to salvage our dying relationship with Animus.
But now that the mole was out in the open, we kicked Bandita,
Etna, Phyrain (I don't even know if there ever really was a
Phyrain anymore!) and after months of drama, Sypno Corp was
finally back on the track to Rebirth.

A new chapter in our story begun. We couldn't complain about our
strengh. We became active and did runs almost everyday. It was a
       good time for us.
One day a messege from IGG arrived. It said that we r gonna to
merge with Rainbow. It was like "more players = more members". A
       nice thinking.
But it was all other then nice. On this day of the merge we were
sent to hell from "One Old Corper". But lets go back to the past
       first.
Some time before we had a time of sorrow. Many guild mates got
hacked/scammed by unknown people. Many suspections were going
       around.
One of our members got into the crosshair because he were acting
realy weird. Many facts were going around that it was him that
       hacked our
members. One of the big reasons that we suspected him, was that
he didn't deny that he was the culprit. We were 99% sure that he
       was guilty.
The leaders made it short and kicked him out of the guild. His
name was Valnar aka. iEvil. From this day he cursed the Guild
       and
all its members, even the ppl that didnt suspect him.
Many weeks passed and his hatred grown against us. Some weeks
       later Challenge
found out that he was innocent. We were 99% sure but the last 1%
turned everything. But it was own Valnar's fault.
With some time this topic fall into oblivion. IGG announced a
merge with Moonlight and Rainbow. This day changed everything.
Valnar had plans for this day to take revenge. he created about
50+ accounts to take many Guild Slots. Also used this to attack
       us.
He created guilds called "Sypno Corp" "SypnoCorp" "sypnocorp".
to destroy us. He was in Animus in that time. But they didnt
       kick him
for the things that he did to the others and our hatred grown
       against them once again.
We were guildless for one week because all guildslots were
       taken.
Some days later we created a Navy Guild till we get a guild
slot. Not all members came back since we were split. We became
       very
unactive because many of the old members joined other guilds.
One day we got a guild slot and created "Sypno Corp" (with 2x
       spaces).
Time passed and the members started to quit because we were
       unactive. There were 5 Elders
that were leading the guild. Some time passed and 3 Elders
       quitted.(NeoFlySailor,YukixSohma,Eark).
Another one left Sypno Corp to rise his strengh. [4 were gone,
1 left]. So Challenge was the last one
that tried to lead the broken guild. One day he fall a hard
decission. Sypno Corp was destroyed, 70% of the members
       quit/left.
He said we could split up now, join other guilds, and apply our
alts in SC. Sypno Corp bacame a random guild in the guild list.
After some weeks Challenge quit aswell. Only Lasynorr had the
acces to the guild owner Shemp but he didnt have the time to
       lead it.
       This was the end...
But there was still hope in SC, some players didnt want to
abbadon it, even it was a dead guild. One day Itachi53 [Sypno
       Scout] came back from
army for 1 month. He asked the old elders to take over and to
build up Sypno Corp again. This was the time of the
       reincarnation.
As he was a Scout for SC in the old days, he knew how to get new
members in a short time. First we recruited random members to
       get numbers.
Some time later we pushed up our requirements to get stronger.
       We took over the
       Rebirth Quest Path again.

Ita became Leader, but it was hard to manage alone so he
promoted Snu to the [1st Sergeant]. A new Leaderchip for a new
       Sypno Corp.

Well, well, There where is a beginning, there is also an end. We
spent many years in this game.
Met alot of people. Many of them were nice, many of them were
bad. We had our bright and dark momments.
This game theached us alot about loyality and betrayal. Many of
the memories will last for a long time, maybe even for ever.
So where do we start... as we know since ToP2 IGG cut the ropes
for the customer service, when they went public they
lost the care of us. This game was dying from day to day, the
end was clear. The only question was "when?". Many players
didn't accept the faith of ToP and stay untill the last momments
       of the game.
One day a guy appeard in argent. His name was "Zanka". This guy
owned a Private Server called "FoxLv" but noone wanted to play
       it.
So this guy had an idea. He wanted to get the people from ToP to
his server. The people rejected to his spammings and he got
       angry.
Rumors say that this guy was an old GM who knew all the files
and codes of ToP. From day to day he started to crash the
       servers.
At the first time IGG fixed it, but their care didn't last for
       long.
The unusual thing is that many people didn't even care about it
       and keept up playing it.
So Zanka had to harm us harder. He reseted all the accounts and
       deleted the items.
This was the final hit and the main cities turned into Ghost
Towns. IGG announced the Game Closure for 29th Feb. 2016.
Not only because of the hacking attacks but also because of the
lack of developers and copyright issues.
Well, maybe it was IGG, maybe not. Maybe it was just time to
leave. I mean 9 years is a long time.
We all knew that this day will come.
Now its time to say Good Bye.
I want to thank everyone for the great time and the great
       memories.
Thank you for fighting along SC's side. Maybe one day we will
meet up in another game ;)
       Never Forget.
       Farewell.
       - Ita (Eugen)
       2nd Feb. 2016.

Well then the next part of the history, you will have to write
then Elswordeo, because I wasn't here for the end of SC III or
when Neo took over. Its important we have a recorded history
       though so get on it!
