Looks like you disabled BBC code. Any reason for that? That
seems like that is causing an issue.

Took a look and the the BBC box was checked. I unchecked and
saved then checked them again and saved. Still no change.

Fixed was at
Layout Settings -> Theme Settings ->
Show BBC Buttons on Posting and PM Send Pages:
Will look into that issue as well if you want to disable bbc.

Thanks, so I can use any theme but just cannot de-activate the
BBC settings, then? Is that correct?

Yeah you can use anytheme and use ezPortal.
Just that setting was bad. Will remove it/look into the issue.
