Ban triggers not working

I've had some crypto currency spam from a user on ftla.uk named
callumcharles and despite adding ban triggers by username, IP
and email address, his profile at
HTML https://www.ftla.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=9462
still isn't
showing as banned. I don't want to just delete him as he could
then just create another profile (I say he but it's probably a
bot).
I've never seen a ban trigger fail to work in this way, any
ideas?

Funnily enough the first of the two now does appear as banned,
so maybe there is a delay in how these triggers come into
effect?

Just had some very helpful comments from one of my admins:

So maybe the ban works immediately and the profile just takes a
while to reflect this?

It could take up to two minutes since we do employ caching
systems.
