Mobile device not being recognized as a mobile device

One of my members is viewing the forum on her phone, but the
site is not recognizing the device as "mobile" and the link that
should be available at the bottom for her to switch to the
mobile view is not showing up for her. I asked what browser she
       was using:

       > DuckDuckGo. I just checked in the Chrome browser I never use
and that one read as mobile initially, but when I switched to
full site, there was no option to switch back to mobile.

       Android.
Another user popped in to say they have an Android and were
       having the same issue.
The original user reports that the mobile mode is back.

Anything else? I saw that people said the alerts were not
useful? But there is a lot more alert options under
notifications all types of alerts can be setup..

I can specifically ask for feedback beyond "should we try this
out or not" and see if people can give more details. Just give
me a day or so to get through some other stuff before I need to
start managing a thread on that.
I'll also ask about how they feel about the recent changes that
are in place (I haven't mentioned the Weekly Digest yet).
Thinking most useful is to ask what device(s) they access the
forum on, and maybe just an over/under for age 50. If they feel
up for giving the latter info.
Is there anything else you'd like as part of that?
(P.S. I think you meant to post this under the mobile layout
       thread).
