Website going down regularly?

Hi, I'm having trouble with the site I set up going down
regularly.
About 10 days ago, it was down for bout half an hour, but today
it went down again for a few hours.
I was going to ask support, but the support forum is hosted
here, and that was also down.
Does this have anything to do with those cloudfare issues, from
the other thread?
What can we do to prevent it from happening again, so the
website stays online for users?

We are trying various different methods to try fix. The core
issue is just there is too many bot/AI traffic that is
overloading the system. Cloudflare is an application level
firewall which we use try block some of the bad traffic, it is
not source of the issue.
Today we switched to using a managed challenge for countries
than US,UK,AU,IE,CA to help reduce the load.
We are still looking into more ways to optimize and prevent bad
traffic from overloading the servers

Thank you for the thorough update. I'm glad to hear wer're
working on it. Create A Forum has been very easy to use, and the
forum members like it. I appreciate your efforts.

Well I hope it isn't more cloudflare. For the last few weeks (or
more) it defaults to a 525 error on every few posting attempts.
First a browser timeout, then SSL handshake error (525) and if
I'm lucky returns to the forum. Then sometimes on a posting
attempt the cloudflare verification system kicks in and
obliterates the post text, bringing me back to an empty reply
box and 'start a new topic'. This happens regularly. It has been
down for hours at least every few days. And just now.
It just took seven attempts to post this!

It is extremely frustrating I understand, its not a cloudflare
issue. It is a bot issue. The bots come at random times tens of
thousands of connections.

Yes I know it's not this forums site's fault. Other forums have
been having this problem of bots clogging up the server. AI use
has made it go crazy!

Been trying a few different approaches, but yes I think it is
random AI bots for sure...
I am trying another method now and see if it helps..

Just rolled out that change... Requires people to complete a
captcha which is good for 24 hours if custom domain user and not
from US,UK,CA,AU country.
