The Meta tag area

On the insistence of co-pilot I am trying to add a meta tag
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,
initial-scale=1.0">
But every time I add it, it becomes
<meta name="viewport"
content="
HTML https://comeallwithin.createaforum.com/width=device-width,<br
/>initial-scale=1.0">
Which co-pilot insists causes it to not function.
Is this a bug, a feature, a misunderstanding?
Is the viewport tag not changeable?
