Forum Slowdown

Hey there,
We appear to be experiencing slow downs and time-outs on our
forum

, are there any known issues
with the service?
Pings are coming back normal but load time seems to be degraded
across multiple users trying to register.
Most users are generally location within the Ontario area of
Canada
Update as of 10:45am EST:
Getting 503 Service Unavailable errors
Update as of 11:43am EST:
Services seem to be stabilizing but some users have reported a
loop while attempting to register, specifically around agreeing
to registration terms.

See this discussion.. But yes this due to bots. If this
continues I will resume blocking china and other places that
custom these bots to occur.

I did not realize how many of my members were struggling with
this until we had the major slowdown today and then someone
mentioned having some regular issues.
I posted a thread for future troubleshooting/reporting efforts
since you can't do much if you don't know about it, so I figured
the first step was data collection. I received more responses
than I expected, and cherrypicking what to report is probably
not as useful as giving you the ability to read it yourself
so...

China and Hong Kong blocked again bots are just too bad... and
too many ip ranges which don't make it easy to block at all.

Unfortunately back to say that the worst of it has cleared up,
but there are still intermittent problems.
Members are continuing to report including screenshots of the
error messages they are receiving. Please see this thread on our
