Up arrow in mobile theme no longer works

The Up arrow at the top left of the page when you are reading a
thread in mobile theme no longer works. It should take you back
to the thread list (or more generally the next level up in the
hierarchy) but it just takes you to the first post in the
thread.
I thought this had been raised before, especially as it has
happened before and it was fixed many months/years ago but
unfortunately it reappeared again very shortly afterwards.
