Gallery question

I would like to have about ten pictures in my Gallery, but
cannot get it to work.

It says: "You need to create a category first before you upload
a picture."
I do not know where to go to take care of that.

Either on the gallery index look at bottom of page to add
category.
Or Admin -> Gallery Configuration -> Manage Categories.
