Why would they have the same name and url?
Normally you would have different menu items. Then you can
decided if you one in front of the other All menu items will be
in top menu bar.

You are right of course, it was just an experiment to show you
that the positions numbers do not seem to do anything. Even
though they have very different position numbers, they end up
next to each other. I removed one of them and tried again. I
tried position numbers 1, 10, 15. The item(s) are always between
the profile and my messages items, regardless of the position
number.

I am not sure what you mean by your answer. Are you saying that
there is no way I can shift the position of the custom menu
item?

Is there a way to not show the info center until a user is
actually logged in?

I think with permissions you can remove some of that such as
stats and whos online.

Is it possible that this will get fixed eventually? Its a cool
feature, but it is important for me that new menu items only
show up when the member is logged in.

Maybe just gets more complicated. If I have to do permissions
per menu item item.

Hmmm... I see your point I think.
For me, as far as permissions go, it would be sufficient if 1)
all custom tabs as a group are only shown on login and 2) they
can be positioned. But that's me.
