A couple of questions on customization

Can I suppress the New banner on the top rhs?
I see I can add my own menu tabs. Is there a way to add the tab
so that it only shows up when the user is logged in...like the
Members and Profile Tabs?
What does position do? How do I use it?

3. Position is the order in which the custom menu items appear
based on the number.

My mistake, I should have said "News" not New. Just under the
search bar.

I think if you delete any entries under Admin -> News and
Newsletters
that should do it.

That what I thought. But I tried putting a number or the name of
the menu item and saved settings. Nothing happened and whatever
I put in the field disappeared.

It should just be a number in that field. If you are on the
custom tabs page in the sytle manager.

I put a number in and saved settings. Nothing happened to the
position of the custom tab and the number disappeared.

Well the position number is saved, but it still does not seem to
do anything to shift the position. See attached. Two items, with
different numbers, but they end up next to each other.
