Help! People can't register for my forum...

As the title suggests there seems to be an issue with the
regerstraion and I don't know what it is.
A friend tried to join last night and said that he had trouble
so I thought that I would go see if it was something on his side
or if there was a bigger issue so I tried to create another
account - all went well for a time, I was able to agree to the
terms and conditions, I filled out my details nicely and clicked
the captcha but then when I said register is said that I wasn't
allowed to.
Any suggestions?

Take a screensot of the exact error message. I need to see the
wording.

What email address are you using?
That would mean you are listed on
HTML http://stopforumspam.com
for
your email.

I thought that I was useing the email that I created for the
forum (a gmail.com account with the forum name).
How do I fix it?

Try another email? That would be odd if that happened on a new
email.

I also found that if you use a VPN to hide you IP address is
will bring up same error message, so just disconnect whilst you
join
