Stopping guests?

Please help me figure out How do I stop guests from viewing
topics and posts on my forum? Or to request a password or key
word before a person can view my forum?

Could you please explain how? I'm struggling to stop guests from
seeing our forum. I've tried changing the permissions but
nothing changes.

Go to ADMIN > BOARDS
now go to each board in turn click on MODIFY and take the tick
out of Guests and save it
Do this with every board you do not wish guests to view.
