Account Deletion Help
DIR By: firecat55

Hi, I'm registered to a forum that's using/hosted by Create a
Forum. I've encountered problems I don't really want to detail
on here regarding staff members on the site, but I'm trying to
delete my account there and they won't allow for it to be
deleted.
It says that my account deletion needs to be confirmed by a
staff member and I've asked them to please remove it but they
are ignoring me and holding it there. Upon further asking them,
they've conveniently created a rule saying all account deletions
will be denied yet no member actually agrees to allowing their
account to be held indefinitely by staff in their terms of
agreements when registering.
The staff have edited things into my profile before and I really
don't want them to do that now while I'm in limbo and ruin my
reputation with members, and I just want to be off that site for
good, but they're not allowing me.
Are they breaking any Create a Forum TOS by not allowing me to
delete my own account?? Their registration agreement doesn't
state anywhere that we as members agree to allowing them to do
something like this to us.

So main thing "you want to delete the account?"
Well, this is not a solution to you're problem but... just some
short info
well okay so firstly,if you want to make another account with
the same user,pass,and email
that would work.you can double accounts. It wont say somthing
like "this account is in use" or "this email has been used"
nothing like that,so i think you dont need to delete.

Thanks for the reply, but I do not want to return to that forum
ever. I want my account deleted from it and to be gone from it
entirely.

I Dont think that may happend but if you want the email to get
out and change the whole account then just
>change email
> change everything
....
and i dont think you may delete it.

Sorry for your problem. When CreateaForum reads this, they will
probably help you out but if not, i suggest doing what the above
person said, change details/username. change email so it is no
longer you. Just a thought. Have you contacted the owner of
the site? Or you could just be a pain in the neck and spam or
something.......not really recommended hahaha but hey, its
creative

Yeah I was considering doing that if it got reeeally bad, but I
do want to leave it as a last resort. Is there anyway on these
forums to search up the posts you've made in the past? With any
luck, I can delete all of those too so I can really remove
myself from that place. Yeah I've contacted the owner, they
replied only once to which they created a rule on the spot that
forum account deletions will be denied to allow all users the
ability to return to the forum should they wish to in the
future. However, there's nothing in the terms of agreement when
you register on the site; I sure as heck wouldn't have joined if
I knew they could hold my account hostage like this :/

Stated in the first post that they didn't want to mention why.
firecat55- Try using this URL to delete your account.

Based on permissions set by administrators, you may not be able
to do this. As an alternative, you should be able to delete your
forum posts - but this again is dependent on permissions set.

Thanks for the prompt reply Andrew! I apologize for my absence.
Gave that link a go and still doesn't work because my account
requires permission before being deleted. Is there any way I can
look up my posts so I can just delete them myself and then
remove all info from my account as XyO suggested? Thanks so much
for your time and help on this!
Edit: Found the 'Show Posts' link in my profile :3 Is there any
way to remove or edit posts on locked topics? Also, I seem
unable to change my username...
