       I'm VERY new at this creataforum Admin business but I think you
       are underestimating icon value for a board. I have icons for all
       my boards. They look exactly like short banners. They are
       informative and clean.
       Here are three of them for your perusal.

       What they have in common is a size that is not too obtrusive but
       not a postage stamp icon either. I think the term "mini-banner"
       is more appropriate than "icon" for board
       graphics.
