Any Beta Testers?

Anyone receive their unit and hating it? I can’t seem to really
do anything with mine. It’s slow, laggy, and does not play nice
with iOS. I’m having a hard time updating the DSPLY/Superscreen
to version 1.1.6. Also, the device basically just loads the
website for whichever app I launch. (Jet Blue goes straight to
JetBlue.com, Pizza Hut to pizzahut.com and so on)

Also the battery seems to not charge as efficiently as I’d
hoped. It’s been plugged in for 5 hours and only at 14%

I understand the apprehension. I was actually right there with
you and was surprised to get a FedEx notification that the item
had arrived to my house. I do agree that the communication was
terrible on the “launch” of this product but the item seems to
have a pretty decent build quality. The custom kernel sucks and
needs some major work as the tablet is pretty much useless. The
sound and screen quality are surprisingly good. Hopefully you’ll
get your unit soon; worst case scenario if there is no
improvement, I’m hoping we can somehow flash a standard android
rom to the device to make it usable.

I would argue the issue is due to the communication through the
project. In 30 updates and 1.6 years of the duration of the
project we've seen not one milestone hit not to mention not one
single reply from Brent since May of last year.
Don't get me wrong, the fact there are deliveries is a good
thing though the communication doesn't build any confidence in
the company or product.

kchotai, how did you get your unit to sync with your iphone? I
received my beta unit on Saturday and still cant get anything to
work. I scan the QR code on the tablet with the iphone app, the
app says 'pairing' for a couple minutes and then it resets.

This project is beginning to look like a Minimum Viable Product
put together to get funding for a startup company. A pro, may
mean that Morgan didn't mean to scam the backers, he needed
money to take his idea to the next level. Cons, he wasn't
upfront about the project, and he probably doesn't have
everything tacked down so he doesn't know how much it will take
to get the full product up and running. Lots of companies put
together campaigns with reviews and mockups for Minimum Viable
Products and he probably used one. The campaign was run
professionally and Morgan's email updates since the end of the
campaign haven't been professional. The last one was almost
impossible to understand which points to the campaign having
been done by a company. Morgan may have the knowhow to get a
superscreen made at some point so if we stick with it and give
him feedback on the beta in the end we may get something
useable.
I may be wrong but didnt some guy named Fabio make a lot of
positive comments about the product during the campaign and on
reddit? Not going to take the time to go back through the
comments so maybe I am not remembering the right name.

I actually had the same issue as you; delete the DSPLY app from
your iPhone and log back in to crashlytics using the link in
your email to download the app again. I found that doing that
resolved the pairing/sync issues. Let me know if that works.
Good luck.

You are correct on that, the reddit mods deleted most of his
comments since he was affiliated with the project and Morgan.

kchotai, I just uninstalled/reinstalled everything on my iphone
and after the second time scanning the QR code it said
'searching for screen' on the app, however, the progress bar
never updated and after a minute or two the app just started.
I still don't understand how this pairing is suppose to work
when I don't enter WIFI info into the tablet or pair it with my
phone via Bluetooth. I also don't see any WIFI or Bluetooth
setting on the tablet itself.
