Dracona sighed and looked over her shoulder at Karra, who
shrugged then unstrapped a bow that was fastened to her back.
Dracona changed shape again, and the saddle and other annoying
clinging bits of leather disappeared. This form was heavier than
the previous one, but it was much more suited for battle. There
were spikes on the end of her tail now instead of webbing, and
her claws were now in a better shape for ripping flesh and
cleaving bone.
Karra had perched herself on Dracona's hip while the
transformation was occurring so as to avoid the sharp spikes
that now ran up her back where the saddle had been. Once the
transformation was complete, she seated herself in a gap in the
spikes at the base of the long, scaly neck.
Dracona waited until Karra was firmly seated, then she launched
herself from the building. She glided for a moment to let her
rider establish her balance, then she swooped down onto the
swarm of mutants. she opened her razor-edged jaws and unleashed
a torrent of fire onto the unsuspecting creatures as Karra
filled them with arrows.

((Well Adam I thought you were gonna post so I waited but..
whatever. We can change things if you post. :-\))
"You there!" Cyndor shouted at one of the policemen, advancing
on him. "Give me that device!"
The policeman's eyes widened in surprise at the strange man who
was approaching him, and he dropped his gun and ran, not wanting
to get run through by the scimitar. Cyndor smiled as he picked
it up, and fired a shot off into the air. "Oh, I do like this."
He said, grinning, as he made his way towards one of the
circular holes in the ground from which the mutants where
emerging. He stuck the gun into the hold and blasted away,
warding off anything that was close.
He then took a large piece of circular metal that was laying
beside the hole. It appeared to be a cover of some sort so he
placed it on the top of the hole. Cyndor drew his scimitar and
start to draw symbols into the metal, the orhicalcum cutting
through the soft iron like butter. He muttered some soft
incantations and the cover fused to the ground around it.

Dracona passed overhead, and saw what Cyndor was doing. She made
another pass at the creatures then circled back to where the
time god was working.
"Be careful!" She roared and she circled over him. "The tunnel
system is extensive, and they probably run under some of these
buildings."
With that, she continued to attack the mutants gathered in the
streets. The stench was nearing the point of unbearable for both
the draconian and the elf who had more acute senses than humans
did. However, they continued to fight off the creatures until
their bodies lined the street like a putrid carpet.
Karra shouted a warning, and Dracona turned just in time to
shield her passenger from a projectile fired by a confused
police officer. The bullet struck her scaly hide and bounced off
without leaving a mark.
Angered by this, the draconian landed in front of the man that
had targeted them. With a sweep of her powerful tail, she sent
five of the mutants flying, and skewered another with a tail
spike. With an annoyed flick, she sent this abomination flying
as well. She arched her neck so that her face was on the same
level as that of the terrified man.
"Let me put this in simple terms so that your tiny human brain
can process it." Dracona snarled, tilting her head down so as to
not breathe on him directly. "We. Are. On. Your. Side. Got it?
Now go and tell your human friends that they need to either help
us fight these things, or stay out of our way."
Karra tapped Dracona's neck with an arrow to get her attention,
then gestured the the advancing host of enemy. As the two
returned to the battle, the surprised man turned and ran back to
where the main police force was assembled.

Cyndor cursed. If the tunnels ran underneath the buildings and
outwards there was no telling how many openings there where. He
had managed to seal one, but there where countless other mutants
still filing into the streets from every direction. He supposed
he had no choice but to continue to seal them, so he
methodically went about putting the covers back on the tunnels
and sealing them shut.
After about ten minutes of sealing, the mutants still hadn't
begun to thin. Cyndor frowned and made his way back through the
battle and towards Dracona and Karra. "I'm afraid we may have to
see where they're originating from. I can't stop them just by
closing the holes."
He glanced down at on of the holes that was just a few feet away
from them, the first one he had sealed. Slicing the cover in two
pieces with his scimitar, he grimaced at the horrid stench
wafting up from below. "Ready to get dirty?"

Dracona landed and Karra slid off of her back. "I'm not getting
dirty." She announced, shifting into a dragon about the size of
a cat. "Though, it's not like I'm not already covered in blood
and ooze already."
They entered the system of tunnels and were instantly greeted by
another hoard of the revolting monsters. They were easier to
deal with in the confined space; they could only come one at a
time. Dracona scouted ahead as Karra and Cyndor moved through
the tunnels behind her, with Cyndor's scimitar cutting a path
before them, and Karra's daggers defending their backs.
Dracona easily wove in between the monsters. She soon found
where the creatures were coming from. There was a large basin of
water that was glowing a strange greenish yellow. There were a
number pf people gathered around the tainted water, all were in
various stages of mutation.
"I think this is where the people who are beginning to mutate
are banished." She said when Karra and Cyndor caught up to her a
few moments later. "The other humans must put them in here once
they show signs of abnormality."

Cyndor gagged from the stench as they stared into the murky
green depths. "What is that?" He asked.
Karra shrugged, looking around at the mutants. "Humans."
Cyndor glanced at her. "Yes, humans. They have such a way with,"
he gestured at the goop that the mutants were peacefully
frolicking in and drinking. "Nature." Grimacing, he grabbed a
human who wasn't too mutated and held him by the arm, dunking
him into the goop and accelerating time around him. Days passed
in seconds for the man, and within moments he was a hulking,
gruesome monster, drool dripping from his over-sized mouth.
"Well I think that's pretty self explanatory." Cyndor
decapitated the monster and tossed it's remains aside. "We've
got to get rid of this stuff."
The trio looked down into the pool. "But how?"

Dracona thought for a moment, formulating a plan. "Can you
accelerate time around a small portion of the stuff?"

"Could you say please?" Cyndor mocked. "Of course I can. Where
would you like me to do it?"
Dracona gestured to a portion of it close to them and Cyndor
complied, speeding time up so that a day went by in about a
second for the goo.

Dracona watched carefully as time sped up for the goop. It
seemed to degrade.
"Do you think you could do the same thing for the entire area?"
She asked, her idea fully taking shape.

Cyndor grimaced as the stench of the goop grew ever stronger
with age, and then as it started to slowly evaporate he turned
and started walking away. "We're done here." He said, not
wanting to waste any more time down in the tunnels. Something
about the place gave him the creeps, and it wasn't the giant
mutants.
"I really don't think that's the last we'll be seeing of these
things. I'm pretty sure that this is nothing natural. But we've
done all we can do for now." He sighed, climbing out of the
tunnel, accompanied by Karra and Dracona. "I'm liking this world
less and less."
