Adding New Shapes to your MMS Program
By: slbarton Date: September 11, 2010, 6:38 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever wanted a shape that you don't have in MMS? Well,
I am about to reveal how to increase those shapes available to
you in teh shapes folder in MMS V.2
MMS uses svg files to provide shapes to users in MMS V2. The
shapes folder can be found in the COMPONENTS file in your
program file. SVG files are vector files that are typically
used for die cutting machines, such as the cricut, so there are
lots of free shape files out there on the web. I recommend
using SOLID filled svg files to add to your MMS program. Find a
few freebies, add the svg files to your COMPONENTS>SHAPES
folder. Then open your program by right clicking on the icon
and running as an administrator. Look in your shapes section
and you should see your new shapes.
Post any questions here!!

Thanks!!! I tried googling this but wasn't very successful since
I didn't know the best phrase to search with so finally I
included Cricut in my search phrase (so like "free svg shape
file cricut") and I got a bunch more hits.
This blog had a lot of freebie files!

Thanks

You can try that and see if it works. A better description
would be to find a solid silhouette. Here's one I know works.

I got it to work!! Yay! The only thing that didn't seem to work
is that I think I added too many new shapes (which it really
didn't seem like that many) and then when I clicked add a shape
in MMS, the list that popped up was too long and there was no
way to scroll down. So I guess I will keep my svg files in a
separate folder and add them in when I need them. Is that what
you do Sarah?

Katie -- You can keep them in there if you would like. You can
see the whole list in the shapes tab of the resource bar and in
the pictures tab on the control panel. I can help you if you
need it.

Thanks Sarah! I can did see them in my shapes tab, but like I
said I had too many and when I clicked the shapes tab to choose
the shape I wanted, the menu took up the whole screen
(vertically) but there was no way to scroll down. I was assuming
because MMS wasn't designed for that many shapes...? Can you
scroll down to see your shapes? They sorta just go off the
screen for me.
