It could for example be Pallet Alone in the World as an app or
the really fun Plants versus Zombies game . The day before I
travel I always check in online. Both to get a good seat on the
plane but also to avoid queuing at the airport. On the day
itself I use an app from CPH Airport which sends an SMS when you
have to go to the gate. If I travel with my husband and my
yearold daughter we pack two mobile phones a laptop an iPad two
MP players three pairs of headphones.
A player a video camera and a camera and of course chargers for
everything and an adapter for it local power. It can certainly
also be made smaller. Find a caf with a good and free network

mobile on the plane I switch off data
to avoid a huge bill when I arrive. I only get emails and go on
Facebook and Twitter if Im on a wifi network e.g. at Starbucks
or at a hotel. If I have to be somewhere for a longer period of
time I buy a local calling time card. Viber is also a good app
that makes it possible to make free phone calls to the whole
world as long as you are on a wireless network.

In my years as a backpacker I have always been very fond of. Now
I just download them as Lonely Planet app s for my smartphone
instead of lugging me around with the extra kilos that such a
book can easily weigh. Since Im a total foodie Im always on the
lookout for the best restaurant nearby. For that I use the app
Foodspotting which can always guide me to my next good meal.
Nostalgia look with Hipstamatic When I dont want to lug around
my cameras I use the mobile camera with the Hipstamatic app
which gives a nice Polaroidlike look to the holiday memories.
