Z-Day Scene (Written out of anger)
       By: bio.android Date: October 6, 2010, 9:45 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ever since the end had started, Kiley had gotten used to the
idea of killing a person to save her own life. Besides, the
things didn't technically qualify as people. It had become
almost an instinct to pull the trigger on the humanoid creatures
trying to rip apart her flesh. She wouldn't become one of them,
       not in a million years.
Now, surrounded by a massive horde, she was blowing so many
heads off the lifeless-but-walking corpses that she almost
considered herself a female Rambo. The small children undead
only bothered her a bit now, since one had killed a person
traveling with them about a week back. She saw one of the little
moaning gremlins standing before her now, but a fraction of a
second before she could pull the trigger of her pistol, she
froze, not believing what she saw. It was her little brother,
       Kale.
Tears filled her eyes, and she couldn't even move to evade the
ghouls surrounding her. As she thought the situation couldn't
get worse, a moan from about ten feet away made her turn her
head. It was her mother trying to gnaw off the flesh of her
friend. Kiley couldn't help it anymore; she broke down crying.
She fell to her knees and sobbed. Her family was gone.
A pair of hands grabbed her from behind, and before Kiley could
react, she was being pulled up. After what she had just seen,
her automatic instinct—which she acted on—was to bring the
pistol to the bottom of her jaw and pull the trigger. She was
dead instantly. She wouldn't be one of them, but she couldn't go
on knowing her family had become one.
A single last tear dropped from her bloodstained face to the
ground as her lifeless body fell to the floor. Her friend,
Joseph, had been trying to help her up and immediately dropped
her body in shock and horror. Why had she...? Kiley... She was
dead... Joseph was trying to inform her that they were almost
done with the horde, and that someone from the military had
called and their helicopter was only five minutes away.
