This was my second review...

I had written this about 2 weeks ago, This is the first draft,
so not everything I had is there, but it is basically the same.
so here goes.
What’s that in the Horizon?
“Event Horizon” by Omega.
Written by tbremise
~First Thoughts~
The first thing I thought of when I read the name was, "Huh, I
wonder what this could be about?" When ever I find myself
thinking this, I know it is going to be a game that I have to
check out. When the game loaded, first thing I noticed was that
the game was an all-black and white game, slightly resembling
that of chalk on a blackboard. Seeing this I became more
interested and just had to try the game. If you know who Omega
is, then you know that Omega’s games usually have something
special to them that makes them interesting, that is why I
played this game.
~Game play~
The game itself was designed beautifully. The background was a
solid black, the platforms were small white outlined boxes, your
character is a small white outlined circle, and there are no
enemies, just hazards that are placed all over, some just to
make the look of the game more menacing. The game appears as a
simple design, yet the simplicity of the design actually helps
to enhance the actual game play. The platforms are never flat,
as a normal game would be, but designed so that you have to
strategically time you jumping to make it to the other side of
chasms. These chasms hold the one type of hazard you can face,
triangles (spikes) with the same look as the character and the
platforms. The best part about this game is it is addicting,
because of the amazing design and the game play in general, I
will go into more detail next.
You may be wondering, “What is your goal while playing ‘Event
Horizon’?” Your goal is to maneuver through this deep maze like
world, full of trenches and chasms that need you to time your
jumps , and at the end of the level reach the other circular
shaped object. Sounds simple enough.
When I began the game, I assumed it was going to be easy,
because the level design appeared to be simple. That was not the
case, the platforms were placed so that you had to time your
jumps perfectly otherwise you’d fall into the hazards. Along
with the specific placement of the actual platforms, the game
was designed similarly to a maze, but with only one direction to
take. With the look and style of this game, one game kept coming
to mind, Limbo. It just felt like it was a prototype to the real
thing.
The game appears to stay to its main idea throughout as well.
With the difficulty rising slowly for each level. On the fourth
and final level, the game hits its most exciting point. There
you must jump over a trench, and continue to climb, jumping over
that same trench, one mistake, and the game is done. But if you
do fall, there is the feeling that you know you can beat this
game, so you take a leap of faith (over the trench) and you get
the goal! (There were minor issues, but I think these issues
were intended, such as on level three, just when you start, it
is hard to make it through a small opening. It just helps raise
the difficulty level.)
~Conclusion~
The game design is so simple, resembling a chalk board version
of the game “Limbo”, making it enjoyable to play. The game play
itself doesn’t have too much creativity other than the idea of
jumping over trenches to reach the end goal, but still fun. I
find this game fun, mostly because it is challenging, but
beatable. So to finish up, this game is a good ppg, with its own
type of “character” and feel and it gives you suspense when
jumping over every hazard, wishing your dreams have been
fulfilled. It also has a memorable name. (This is a great
game, It gives a feel that you are not even playing a game made
with ppg.)
~Ratings~
(0-10= terrible, 10-20= room for improvement, not bad, 20-30=
minor issues and perhaps a little boring, 30/40= Great, almost
nothing to complain about, good game.)
Challenge: 9/10
Hazard/enemy placement: 8/10
Puzzles: didn’t really any real puzzles, so I will change this
to addictiveness: 8/10
Creativity: 9/10
Total: 34/40 = Great!

Rating out of 10 is not an issue when you rate things... I
believe out of 5 or ten is satisfactory to the reviewers.
