Two more steps.
One more step.
Purple eyes watched was the poor squirrels tail was captured
tightly
in a vine. He went over and ended the poor things suffering
with a
quick bite to the throat and somehow releasing it's tail from
the vine.
"Yes!Yes! It actually worked! Aww man I have to show
somebody," Jay stopped in his victory dance, which was a
mixture between a happy skip and a trot, "But who?"
The first cat who popped into his head was Zane.The pale male
had
always been interested in Jay's inventions. Then there was Cole,
whom hadn't really shown much of an interest but would help if
they
had some type of fluke, kinda Jay's little assistant. He had
helped
a lot with this one, so maybe he wanted to see the finished
product?
After that Jay's own team mates (was it bad that they were
third?)
who had never even shown any type of interest in anything he
did, so no.
then the new kid Kai, whom Jay had yet to even have a
conversation with,
that gave the possibility of showing off to someone who wasn't
used to his
antics like Cole and Zane and who would probably be interested
unlike Jay's
own team mates (wasn't that bad that they didn't care? Cole's
team was
always there for each other). Jay shook his head,"Kai it is
then."[/td][/tr][/table]

That was the only thing Kai was feeling right now. Nobody to
bother,
nobody to train with, no one to fight. Nothing to do. It kind
of annoyed
him. He turned onto his back and raised his paw to the sky.
He then spread his toes and unsheathe his claws. After just a
moment he sighed and rolled back on to his stomach.
"Nothin' to do"
At least back at home he could both Nya if he was bored.
Everybody
here just yelled at him or told him to go train (because he had
really
bad form apparently) or something like that. Not even Zane
wanted to be around him. Zane was lame, he should feel honored
Kai would waste his time.
"Yes! Yes! It actually worked! Aww man I have to show

and stretched. He was slightly pleased by the small pops that he
heard.
Time to go find the owner of the voice. To the woods.
He was shocked by the sight he was greeted with. Someone,
Kai hadn't met them yet, was doing this weird skipping trot
thing.
And they didn't seem to know he was there.
"But who?"
The cat stopped. He seemed lost in thought so Kai sneaked
(snuck?)
closer. However this was seemed to have caught a squirrel. Was
that
what he wanted to show everyone? A squirrel? Newbie. Wait.....
was that
a vine? What? Kai jumped when the other shook his head.
"Kai it is then."
Kai's ears flattened. How did this guy know his name?
"What about me? And how do you know my name?"

Jay jumped and turned his head in the direction of the voice,
"Ah,
you scared me. You shouldn't sneak up on people like that. I
could have had a
heart attack you -"
"And how do you know my name?"
"That was a little rude don't you think? I didn't cut you off
mid-sentence,
did I? No. So you shouldn't do it to me.If you would have
waited I would have told you,"
Jay flicked his tail angrily in Kai direction before speaking
again,"I was going to
go get you to show you my newest invention, because your new and
it might help you feel like
you fit in. How do I know your name? Have you ran into anyone
who doesn't know your name?
Your new and you made quite a few impressions. some good some
bad."
Jay stood and tilted his head towards the vine, "Now time for
the invention."
He stood,swiped some leaves over the vine,found a nut,placed it
right outside the vine, beckoned
Kai with his tail, and took his place back in the bush.
Once they both had settled he would whisper how his invention
worked to Kai, "You
see the nut loving critter will see the nut and head toward
it,completely oblivious to the vine.Once it's
in the right spot I'll tug this vine and it will tighten around
it's tail, making sure it can't get away. Then
you just go over and kill it and ta-da, a brand new piece of
prey." After explaining he would look
at Kai and give a small smile.
" At first I had trouble with getting the vine to loosen but
then Cole suggested
I chew up some non-dangerous leaves and use the juices as a
lubricant of sorts. Works like a
charm but you have to keep reapplying
it."[/td][td]

name) turned to Kai and smile. Kai glared back.He turned his

really know him all that well. He just really talks to me when I
need help with something. And thats rare because I usually go

Jay backed out of the bush,silently hoping that Kai would take
that
as a sign to follow, "Why do you want to know
about Cole so much? I know hes kind of a jerk sometimes but he
really isn't that bad. Unless thats why you want to know about
him?
Unleeesssssss your sweet on him or something?"

Kai flattened his ears. He really was hoping he could find
something out. Why
didn't anybody know anything? Maybe they did and they didn't
want to tell him?
It frustrated him. He was stirred by the other speaking again.
Kai didn't even
bother with really listening.Stupid Blabber and not telling him
stuff. Stupid other
members of this little group. Stupid Wu. He was stirred by the
other shimmying his
way out of the bush.Kai followed.
Names Jay by the way."
Stupid Jay. Talking about his stupid invention.Not telling him
anything he needed to
know. "Nice to meet you I guess. Where are we going exactly?

He did seem to be drawn out of his thoughts by Jay's movements
and followed him out of the bush. "Look if it's
bothering you that much why don't you just follow Cole around
for a bit and find out a little bit about him?

Jay flicked his tail in the direction of the camp they had set
up," I'm
going to head towards camp and see if I can't find someone else
to show off to
because it's obvious you aren't interested.Nice to finally meet
you in person, Kai.
Your not as bad as others say you are." With that he turned
and headed towards camp.
About half way to camp he finally noticed the sound of paw-steps
behind him. Maybe Zane
had caught scent of him and decided to come find him? Or Cole
had found him and was practicing
his sneaking technique? Or maybe one of his team members looking
for him,waiting to see how long
it took him to notice them? He was about to turn when he heard a
sigh. Scratch Zane off, he never got
impatient or annoyed when others didn't pay attention to him.
Jay knew he could also scratch Cole off
the list, he would probably just swipe at Jay's ears if he
didn't pay attention to him.That left one of his team
members, who would probably just say something, or some
stranger. Then there was a grunt. Jay's
ears perked at the sound. It couldn't be. He turned his head
just as however had been following him
spoke. " Where are you taking me? Why is it taking so long to
get there? Is it at least
important or is it another one of your 'inventions'?"
If jay were to say he wasn't offended by what the other had said
he would be lying. His ears flattened,
his eyes narrowed, and his spoke in a strained voice to keep the
growl out of it, "I didn't ask you to
follow me. You made that decision yourself. And my inventions
are important, thank you very much.They
benefit everyone in this group. They even benefit you, even if
you don't notice it."[/td]

Why was he being yelled at all of a sudden? It wasn't like he
had insulted anyone. Just a stupid invention. No reason to get
upset about. Really. He shifted his weight from paw to paw.
He really didn't see what he did wrong here. He just wanted
to get a move on. " Yeah yeah, I get it. Can we
get going

Jay snorted as Kai pushed past him and whirled after the male."I
don't think you do. If you did
then you would be apologizing," his tail lashed back and forth
as his anger level got higher,
"You wouldn't be acting the way you are. You don't get it at
all. Your just like everyone says. Even now
your being impatient and not actually listening to me." Kai just
continued walking as if he hadn't heard a word Jay had
said. When he was a good distance away from Jay and closer to
the camp he looked over his shoulder and said just a few
tiny words that would make Jay snap.
"I'm going to go find something worth while."
After this Jay would bound in ahead of Kai and attempt to block
Kai's path. If this succeeded he would let out a frustrated
hiss before speaking. " No one kept you here. You stayed on your
own free will. If you didn't want to 'waste' your time then
you shouldn't have stayed. I would have more then happy to show
my creation to someone who actually has a brain and
would appreciate it."[/td]
