Fury glares at Stark as the man continues to
practically make a joke out of this whole thing, talking about
homoerotic fantasies. Believe it or not, Fury does have a sense
of humor, but when it comes down to Rogers, Fury makes no room
for jokes. He knows the seriousness of the situation, and knows
it's no laughing matter. But then Tony says that Steve doesn't
really do anything except talk because he seems lonely. Damn
right he's lonely, but Fury can tell Tony's still hiding
something, and he knows that Tony had lied about Steve's
location last time. Stark is defending Rogers against SHIELD,
and it needs to stop. However, Tony then goes on to add a very,
very important piece to the puzzle. Rogers is attached to him...
and appears to have a crush on him.
Two medics come rushing over to Stark's aid, and Fury just
continues to stare at him, an idea forming in his head. SHIELD
needs to figure out Steve's location, and what better way to do
that than use Tony? Stark will be like bait and-- Oh, it's
perfect. Pretty soon SHIELD will have Rogers in their keeping,
and they can finally begin Project Captain America. The man
needs help, and Fury is trying everything he can to communicate
with him and help him, it's just not working, so he needs Stark.
***
Thursday, July 22nd
Fury walks up to Stark who's waiting at the front door for his
assignment. He has no idea what to expect, which only makes
Fury's plan that much better, but this was still an extremely
serious matter. Fury has been thinking about this plan for days,
and now that he has everything worked out, it's time to put his
plan into action.
"Stark, your mission is to get captured by Rogers again," he
says as soon as he's in front of Stark. An agent comes with the
necessary items for the task. "However, this time you will be
tracked, and your conversation will be monitored," he explains
before the agent cuts in.
"Here's your tracking device," says the agent, holding up the
tiny tracking chip before handing it to Tony. "It goes in your
shoe," he adds before moving on. "And here's your comm link.
It's practically microscopic, so no one will--"
"I'm pretty sure Mr. Stark is very aware of how tech works,"
Fury says, exasperated as he takes the comm from the agent's
hand and gives it to Tony. "We need to know the exact location
of Rogers hideout, plus we need a good distraction until we can
get there. That's where your... advantages come in," Fury
explains, clasping his hand together behind his back. "We need
you to seduce Steve to give us a chance to infiltrate his
hideout, plus we'd like you to gather any information you can
because god knows he won't speak with us willingly. Any
questions?"

Tony doesn't know why he's here -- and chances are he
won't like it, either. Apparently Fury's got some special
mission for him, and Tony's willing to bet it has everything to
do with the little charade he and Rogers have been up to lately.
Of course, Fury shows up, confirming Tony's train of thought
while some incompetent agent babbles about tech he helped
create. Great, so, he's infiltrating Rogers' base with a few
trained monkeys at his back. Tony kind of rooting for the guy
killing people, honestly. Tony's not against the whole plan,
though, he has to wonder how it would all pan out.
Fury apparently had an answer for that, too -- which is actually
to... seduce the murderer. Tony blinks slowly, trying to process
that. Wait. When did this become his life? Did he seriously just
get asked to seduce another man? To seduce Steve Rogers? Fury
asks if there's anything questions, and, though all of Tony's
generally fall into the same category of what the f*ck? he takes
a few moments to come up with a more eloquent one.
[b]"Oh, no, it's all fine," he says dryly, frowning. "Except for
the part where, uh; a, I am not at all comfortable with this; b,
I am not an undercover agent; c, Rogers will never fall for
this; and, d, I have a girlfriend. If any of that happens to
come into play."

Fury knew Stark would have questions. After
all, he's nothing like Agent Romanoff or Agent Barton who go
into most of their missions no questions asked. Then again, Tony
doesn't really ask questions, he just states his concerns,
saying how uncomfortable he feels about this, he's not an
undercover agent, Rogers will never fall for this, and, of
course, he has a girlfriend. Really, it's not like he's asking
Stark to strip and mess with the guy, he's just asking for
some... playful attitude.
"I don't care about how comfortable you feel about this, Stark.
I'm trying to do what's best for Rogers, and that's to at least
get him through these doors. The man has lost a lot and seen a
lot and it has changed him for the worst, and we can fix that.
Doing this will save hundreds of innocent lives, Stark, lives
that Rogers is perfectly capable of taking. I've tried getting
him here the nice way and many other ways, but nothing has
worked. We haven't actually seen Rogers have a connection with
anyone or anything until you came along. He likes you, Stark,
and he hasn't liked anyone since the 40s. All I ask is that you
talk to him, get close to him, keep him busy for a few minutes.
Rogers is easily amused, but not easily distracted, and you have
proven to me that he cares for you far too much to hurt you.
This is the only way, you got that?" Fury says in about five
breaths at the most, staring Stark in the eyes. What he doesn't
mention, however, is how Steve might react when he finds out all
of this has been a trap. Then again, even Fury doesn't know the
answer to that one. Rogers is an unpredictable man in most
cases. "Now get your tracker and comm on and lets get going,
we're burning daylight."

Tony's eyes narrow as Fury goes on to explain the
matter. He gets Fury's point, he really does, but... what about
Rogers? If Tony takes advantages of his trust to get him
captured, doesn't that mean any trust afterwards will be lost?
Isn't that trust kind of important? It's important to Tony, at
least. He really doesn't want to be killed by Rogers, and... he
doesn't think there's a whole lot of people Rogers trusts,
anyway. Tony knows that SHIELD could help Steve, but the real
question is whether or not Steve would let them.
[b]"Okay," Tony says slowly, but he still doesn't look
completely sold, like he's trying to wriggle his way out of
this thing. "Okay, fine, but how do you expect me to get caught
again? Are you going to release some villain onto the city and
let him beat the crap out of me, because, to be perfectly
candid, I'm not down with that, either."

Fury is relieved when Tony finally agrees,
somewhat. He can tell that Stark still isn't completely on board
with this, but that's understandable. It looks like Stark has a
bit of an attachment to Rogers as well, and then, or course,
Stark asks how he's going to get Steve to capture him. Stark is
so predictable sometimes.
"'Been thinking about that too," he says, turning around to
start walking back to the agents waiting to infiltrate Steve's
hideout. "Just walk around, he'll find you," he tells him,
smirking just a tad. Stark doesn't know this, but his plan is
much more elaborate than just having Stark wonder aimlessly
through the streets. He has to catch Rogers attention, make him
know that he's needed. Fury is finding out Steve's weak spots,
and it's making this mission a whole lot easier.

Tony raises an eyebrow as Fury tells him to just "walk
around", that Rogers will "find him". Yeah, Tony's pretty sure
it doesn't work like that. Apparently Fury doesn't know Rogers
half as well as he thinks he does. [b]"I guess we'll see," Tony
says, not even putting up a fight. Honestly, he's kind of done
with SHIELD right now. If they thinks their plan will work,
fine, Tony will walk around for an hour. He slips the comm in
his ear, the tracker in his shoe, and sighs.
"So, is that it? Can I go now?" Tony asks, as Fury's walking
away, mockingly adding, "Hey, maybe I should hit up downtown,
carry around a bottle of Scotch, if I get kidnapped again me and
Rogers can catch up over a couple of drinks. I can turn it into
a regular Thursday night!"

Fury sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose
when Stark asks if he can go now. Yes, of course he can go now,
that's what Fury wants him to do, f***ing leave already. But
then Stark goes on to mock him, talking about bringing Scotch so
he and Rogers can catch up over a few drinks. Fury would love to
smash a bottle of Scotch over Stark's head. This is not a joke.
Of course, Fury knows that even if he tells Stark that, the man
will probably take it all even less seriously.
"Get going, Stark, if you mess this up it can not only cost you
your job, but your life as well," Fury warns him, turning back
around to stare at him. "Act casual, walk down the streets,
he'll come to you one way or another," he reminds him before
waving him out. If Stark makes one wrong move, everything could
be ruined. He turns on his earpiece connected with Stark's, and
waits with the agents ready to go, watching as after Stark
leaves, one of their undercover agents follow him.

Tony simply rolls his eyes in response to Fury, obeying
him if only to get away from him. He turns away and waltzes out
the door, deciding that he'll walk back to the Tower, and, hey,
if Steve doesn't show, Fury's mission is a bust. Fury wouldn't
actually throw him off the team, anyway -- if the public saw
that Iron Man was no longer fighting with the rest of the
Avengers, and Tony said that it was no longer in his
jurisdiction to do so, SHIELD's approval ratings would drop
terribly.
Waltzing down the street, Tony counts the people he's stopped by
-- a reporter, a pair of teenage girls, three small children
asking for his autograph or a handshake or a word or a hug. The
after math of the Battle of New York is still scattered some
places, buildings still ruined and clean up still running, but
with the still-recent attack comes the even more-recent praise
and affection of, well, the world. Tony is used to it, though
he's willing to be Bruce isn't hiding away for nothing, and Thor
just seems extremely confused. Natasha and Clint, well... they
don't get out much Tony's actually pretty sure they're on some
under cover mission right now, possibly in Poland, though Tony
really can't be bothered to go find out.
His train of thoughts is interrupted when, suddenly, he finds
him self falling.
[b]"Son of a--" Tony exclaims, hissing as he skids across the
sidewalk on his hands and knees. "Yeah, excuse you!" he yells at
the man disappearing rapidly around the corner. He stands --
there are now slightly bloody holes in the knees of his jeans,
and he doesn't even want to think about how long it's going to
take to pick everything out of his hands. Hissing in pain, Tony
seriously debates going after the guy, but, he's gotta remember,
there's nothing worse than bad press. F*cking SHIELD-- they
probably planned to have him walking through the streets with
the World's Biggest Ass-Hole.

Steve sits on a bench, enjoying his time
outside. He doesn't usually get time like this, outside time...
in peace. He has his hood pulled up so no one can see his face,
and he watches all the people walk by, people that he's not
hurting. Then, suddenly, he's there. Tony is there, across the
street, talking to a kid. Steve slowly gets to his feet,
watching, observing as Tony gives the kid a hug. The kid happily
skips back over to his mother, and Tony is on the move again,
walking forward. Where's he going? What's he doing? Steve has to
know, has to follow and watch, because every time he gets to see
Tony is a blessing and a semi-rare privilege.
He stays on the opposite side of the street, keeping his head
down, but watching Tony from the corner of his eye. Tony is so
graceful when he walks, back curved, hair moving in the wind,
face filled with confidence and peace. He's like an angel, and
Steve's a demon wishing for a chance to be with him, or at least
just be able to talk to him with no fear or anything involved.
He doesn't want to kidnap Tony just so he can speak with him,
but it's the only way with the life he lives.
Then, suddenly, a guy a few feet behind Tony starts running,
seeming like he's literally aiming for Tony as he runs him down
and disappears out of sight. Tony falls, and Steve can tells
he's hurt, and before he even realizes what he's doing, he's by
Tony's side, hood still pulled down as he gently grabs Tony's
arms and helps him up, observing the damage. Tony's jeans are
torn at the knees, and there's blood and stuff in Tony's hands.
Steve looks up to meet Tony's eyes, and then looks around. "Come
on," he says, grip on Tony's wrist a little tighter now as he
starts to practically jog down the street, his hideaway not that
far from here. He covers Tony's eyes, like he always has to do,
and slips down an alleyway, using his back roads so no one will
be suspicious.
In a matter of minutes, he's in the basement of the abandoned
hospital. He sets Tony down in his chair, and uncovers his eyes,
already digging through a drawer for cotton swabs and his bottle
of water that contained salt and vinegar (proven to help
wounds). He finds it, pours some on a cotton swab, and gets down
on his knees to tend to Tony's injuries, starting with his
knees. "Are you alright?" he asks before grabbing some tweezers
and taking one of Tony's hands, carefully pulling out the shards
that lay within it and then going back over the injuries with a
cotton swab, repeating the process with the other hand.

at HQ, waiting to hear some sign that Stark has fallen into
their trap. Finally, he hears Stark curse under his breath,
excusing the agent that no doubt just ran into him full speed.
Then, sure enough, Rogers voice can be heard soon afterwards,
telling Stark to "come on." Heavy breathing can only be heard
afterwards as Stark follows Steve, and then, there's a brief
silence until Rogers asks if he's alright.
"Hes been stationary for awhile, sir," says the agent who is
following Tony's tracking device.
"Lets go get him then," Fury orders, moving out with the five
other agents, all suited up and armed. This could get very
dangerous, especially is Stark doesn't fall through.

Before Tony can even look another way, Steve is there,
hand on his arm, helping him up and looking him in the eye. Tony
can do nothing but gape, because, holy hell, it actually worked.
What the chances were of Steve being in the exact same part of
New York as him, Tony can't bother to calculate right now, but
he knows the odds are, basically astronomical. Part of Tony
almost doesn't think it's a coincidence. He can't very well say
anything, though, because the next thing he knows, he's got a
hand around his eyes and he's being dragged along again, at a
quick pace that tells Tony that Rogers is in really, really good
shape.
When they're back to wherever he's been taken these past few
times, Steve wastes no time in going through a drawer and
getting on his knees to help Tony. [b]"Wait--" Tony says, and
then hisses in pain when Steve starts to clean his wounds with
something that stings way too badly. Tony thinks he smells
vinegar. "--wait, would you--" Steve's moving onto his hands in
no time at all, picking the gravel and whatnot out of his
grazes. "--Rogers, just-- When he grabs Tony's other hand and
starts to repeat the process, Tony actually grabs his arm,
saying, "Steve." Almost as soon as he's done it though, he
realizes his mistake, loosening his grip on Steve's arm and then
letting go completely, looking a little wary of his mistake.
He's just guessing, but forcibly grabbing an already very
cautionary person is probably not a very good plan. "How the
hell did you get to me so fast?" he questions, eyes a little
wide, because he really doesn't -- I mean, unless Steve was
stalking him -- but it really hadn't felt like -- Tony just
doesn't know is the point, and he can never get a read on Rogers
and he doesn't understand him but he wants to.
