Steve continues smiling as Tony tells him how far away
his house or whatever is. Well, a few blocks wasn't that far
away in Brooklyn terms. He notices Bucky give them a strange
look, glancing at Tony then him, and then Tony again. What? Was
Bucky surprised that's he'd actually agreed to walk Tony home?
Come on, he was technically walking everyone home, I mean, he
was the only one that seemed able to function completely
properly. Besides, he and Tony and Rhodey and everybody were
friends now, which was fabulous. He can't wait to tell Clint
about this... later... preferably in the morning.
They set out into the cold air, Rhodey going to say some words
to Tony, leaving he and Bucky together not very far behind them.
Bucky yawns, stretching and stumbling a little as he did so.
Steve catches him, getting a cure from Bucky instead of a
thanks.
"You know the b*tch is bi, right?" Bucky asks Steve quietly,
pointing at Tony. "Well, not the b*tch. He's totally male,
believe it or not, I mean the motherf*cker," he apparently
corrects himself, looking quite proud.
"Language," Steve points out, hating it when Bucky gets all
majorly cursy, however, he's still smiling as he warns him,
feeling as happy as a lamb.
"To hell with it," Bucky replies, waving his hand lazily,
bumping up against Steve's shoulder. "But ya do know what I'm
sayin', right, a*ss*it?"
Steve rolls his eyes, laughing rather loudly. "Yeah, I
understand, but Tony and I are friends now, I think. We should
be fine. I'm sure he knows I'm straight," he explains, wanting
to skip but stopping himself.
Bucky snorts this time, looking awfully tired as his eyes
drooped slightly. "If we stuck the f*cking word straight on your
fine, large a*s, no-one would believe it. Most s*itd*ck famous
a*ses are bi or gay these days anyways. Take this hot a*s honkey
for example," he says, motioning to himself and yawning yet
again.
That's around the time Tony comes over, cutting in between he
and Bucky, calling him gummy bear and asking if he can lean on
him before he ever gets a chance to respond to Bucky. "Suure,"
he agrees to Tony happily, moving closer to him to where their
arms were brushing so Tony could lean on him. Slowly, he wraps
his arm around Tony's waist, thinking it was alright since they
seemed to be buddies now. This was what friends were for,
anyhow, support and not letting them fall over or get their
shoes pucked on.

"Thanks," Tony says as soon as Steve's agreed and
stepped closer, immediately pressing his shoulder against
Steve's broader one for support, while Steve, in return -- and,
seriously, get this -- wraps his arm around Tony's waist. Tony
is surprised at the touch, but certainly isn't objecting against
it. Even through his shirt, Steve's hand is deliciously warm,
Tony leans his head to the side a little, resting it on Steve.
Okay, this is kind of cuddly, and Tony doesn't do cuddling,
that's lame, but there's a little wind and Steve's arms is
obviously very strong, and, hey, he started it, Tony's just
reciprocating, and he's feeling better already, steady and
sure-footed with Steve's arm wrapped like a thick band behind
him. Tony can tell he's ripped, even if his arms are covered.
I am really f*cking attracted to you, Tony wants to tell him,
but he figures that it's obvious enough, so he just staggers a
little, regains his footing, and says, "You wanna come in when
we get there? We can play Left 4 Dead or something, leave these
losers behind," which, of course, is Tony Stark language for "I
need to get rid of these f*ckers so you take my pants off, you
are coming into my apartment" (Steve's not exactly familiar with
Tony Stark language yet, of course, but maybe he will be,
eventually). Tony can see his apartment building coming up in
the distance, and he hopes Rhodey's gotten the message by now to
hold Bucky back by now, because Tony plans on taking the
elevator ride up with Steve, alone.

Steve simply nods when Tony thanks him, thinking that
it's nothing, really. In all honesty, Steve finds himself
letting people lean on him very often, and when he says people,
he means Bucky. The guy gets drunk about once every two weeks or
so, so of course Steve's the one that has to help him back home
or wherever on the days he feels incapable of helping himself.
At least the guy knew his limits and what he could and couldn't
do alone, which helps Steve sleep easier at night. Most times,
though, Bucky makes it even easier on Steve by calling a cab to
take him home. Those are the best nights. Steve smiles even more
when he feels Tony's head lean onto his shoulders, causing him
to chuckle quietly. It was very dark outside and pretty chilly,
it was nice to have a friend be so close to help keep you warm
while you help them from falling flat on their face.
That's when Tony asks Steve is he wants to actually come inside
his home, and, well, Steve finds himself speechless at first. He
remembers what Bucky had said a few seconds ago, warning him
that Tony was bi, but come on, he was inviting him to play video
games. That had to be one of the most innocent requests ever,
except the fact that they were probably going to be shooting
stuff, and Steve was very good at shooting stuff.
"Sounds fine, if you're okay with it," Steve replies finally,
looking behind him to see Bucky giving him that warning glare
that told him, dude, I just practically told you the guy was
hitting on you... run! However, Steve ignores it, turning back
to give Tony a warm smile. Tony totally wasn't hitting on him,
that would be silly.

Tony gets a little nervous as Steve falls quiet, not
answering Tony's question immediately. Is that a bad sign? Is
Steve going to turn him down? God, okay, that would be really
disappointing, even if this is one of the most far-fetched
chances he's ever going to be able to take, I mean Steve Rogers,
honestly. But a few seconds later, Steve breaks the silence and
answers Tony's question: sounds fine, if you're okay with it.
Bwahaha, if he's okay with it? What does that even mean? Of
course Tony's okay with it, he offered -- and by offered, he
meant, begged to have sex with, even if Steve doesn't speak Tony
Stark language, once again, Tony doesn't know this.
"Oh, it's okay," Tony laughs quietly. "Very okay. Super okay. It
has never been... uh... okay-er." Steve is smiling. Oh, how is
his smile even that nice?
"That's not even a word!" Rhodey shouts indignantly from in
front of them, throwing his hands in the air. "Tony, you can't
just make up words, don't you have any idea how wording works,
you need to--"
"Uuuugh," Tony groans again, and then realizes, with a little
skip of his heart, that they've closed in the apartment. "Ah,
good, this is me. Or, us," Tony turns his head up to Steve and
grins, then glances around to Rhodey and Bucky, waving his
fingers. "I'll see you munchkins later. Go walk each other home,
or something. Be safe."
"Tooonnnyyy--"
"No, nope, nope, nobody listen to Rhodey, you're not allowed, I
forbid it, are there any other complaints that are actually
important?"

Steve's relieved when Tony lets him know exactly just
how okay it was for him to be joining Tony in playing video
games. He thinks about what time it was as well, and wondered if
Tony also planned on inviting him to just stay the night. IT was
dangerous to walk around Brooklyn at such late hours, but Steve
wasn't going to invite himself into any situation or anything.
He'd leave that up to Tony to decided and ask. Either way, Steve
would be alright.
Rhodey starts talking again to Tony, accusing the man of making
up words, but Steve doesn't even mind in this moment. He was
only a grammar Nazi around Bucky since he knew the man gets
annoyed with him when he is corrected. Tony handles Rhodey's
words quite well, though, practically ignoring them as he
announced that they were at Tony's house, or rather, apartment
complex. He hears Tony ask if there's anymore complaints, and of
course Bucky is the first one to speak up.
"Yeah, I got a complaint, you c*ck-sucking, sonofab*tch!" he
starts, waving a hand up in the air. "If you so much as lie a
wrong finger on Steve, I will take your tiny d*ck and jam it up
your throat until you bite it off!" Bucky threatens, trying to
look vicious right before he yawns he again and almost trips
over his own feet. "F*ck," he mumbles, staring at the ground
before stopping since he apparently wasn't allowed to enter
Tony's apartment. "I'll see ya at your place, Steve you
motherf*cker, it's much closer than my s*ithole," he sighs
before waving weakly at turning around, motioning for Rhodey to
follow him.
"Sorry about him," Steve apologizes to Tony with a very faint
blush, embarrassed by Bucky's behavior. "He's not usually like
this, as you probably already know," he goes on, adding that
last part as an afterthought because he had almost forgot that
Bucky already knew Tony.
"So, um, please continue leading the way," Steve chuckles
quietly, feeling a bit awkward since he didn't know where
anything was.
Little did he know when he woke up this morning that he'd be
ending his day by going home with a guy who was almost a
stranger who he would already consider a friend, be invited to
his apartment, and play video games with him. Of course, it
doesn't sound like a bad note to end his day on at all, either,
which was good. Steve was excited, strangely enough.

Bucky is the only one to say anything -- and he says
a lot, actually, but Tony knows Bucky, and knows how he gets
when he's drink, so he just smiles and makes a tip-of-the-hat
kind of motion when Bucky's done yelling at him. "See you
later!" he calls cheerfully, waving at both Bucky and Rhodey
(who was leaning heavily against the wall of the but now goes to
stagger after Bucky, flipping Tony the bird in the process,
likely for getting him so drunk). Tony grins after then, and
then Steve speaks again, apologizing for Bucky's behavior, his
face lit up just enough by the streetlight for Tony to examine
the blush that has so gracefully passed among his features.
Steve is really, really f*cking cute when he does that, does he
even realize? Probably not. There's something innocent and
clueless mixed in with the sexy devil part of him.
"Right!" Tony says hurriedly when Steve asks him to lead the
way. He peels himself away from Steve's arm and grabs his wrist
instead, leading him inside. Jerry's there, he's either the
nephew or the son or some distant cousin of Phil's, the Coulson
family pretty much owns this place, besides for that one woman
here. The only thing Tony knows about her is that she's a
cellist. Tony waves at Jerry, and takes Steve into the elevator,
pressing the button for the fifth floor, and, god, he's in an
elevator, with Steve Rogers, alone. With Steve Rogers. Tony lets
go of his wrist and just looks at him a bit curiously for a
moment, still not believing that this is his life. Wow. Wow.
When the elevator comes to a shaky stop, Tony takes a few steps
out, fumbling for the keys inside his pocket. "Home sweet home,"
he mutters as he finds the door and sticks the key in the lock,
swinging it open -- and then turning around, cupping Steve's
face in his hands, and kissing him, hard.
It's not a very nice kiss, because their breath smells like
liquor and Tony's drunk, god, he's so drunk, but he takes a step
back and drags Steve forward at the same time, stepping deeper
into the apartment. "I want you," he breathes, hardly breaking
the kiss for it, and Steve's not kissing back, why, why is that?
He's surprised, he's probably just surprised, Tony'll give him a
couple seconds to come to his senses, yeah, it'll be fine, he's
sure.

Steve's only slightly taken by surprise as Tony pulls
away from him, grabbing his wrist and rushing inside. What's
with all the hurrying? Perhaps Tony was excited too about--
about playing video games. Gosh, this whole thing sure did seem
silly, but Steve doesn't really care about a stupid reputation
around Tony. Video games were fun, and Steve only gets to play
them when he goes to Bucky's because he's not such a huge fan of
video games to the point he'd buy a console for himself. Then
again, Bucky only owns a Nintendo 64, two Gameboy Colors (don't
ask), and a Playstation 3.
They rush past the doorman and went straight into the elevator.
Steve looks at the floor button Tony pushes, wanting to remember
in case he was invited back or something, and then the somewhat
awkward silence started. Tony, on the other hand, doesn't appear
to think it's awkward as he stares at him. Steve purposely
doesn't look back, not wanting things to get even more awkward
on his end. This elevator ride seems to be taking longer than it
should. Steve swallows.
Once out of the elevator, Tony finds his keys, unlocks the door
and--
"Mmph!"
Steve feels warm hands on his face, a body too close for
comfort, and... and hard lips on his own that taste like liquor,
the hair of a goatee scratching against his cheeks and chin. No.
No! This could not be happening! Tony's kissing him! He's not
moving or kissing back, but instead staring wide-eyed at the man
before him, hands hovering at his sides for he did not want to
encourage him. Steve's about to pull away, but Tony steps back,
taking him with him. Oh sh*t, no. "I want you," the other man
breaths, and Steve's still having a hard time believing that
this is happening, much less that Tony wants to have sex with
him. He's surprised and horrified and scarred. He's never kissed
a guy before, and definitely has never slept with one, nor does
he want to.
"Stop!" Steve says, pushing Tony back forcefully, still looking
and feeling shocked out of his own mind. "I'm straight!" he goes
on to tell Tony, taking a step back and covering his lips with a
hand, eyes wide. This did not just happen. It couldn't have
happened!

Tony is very suddenly shoved back, breaking the kiss
and stumbling a bit all at the same time. He's confused, for a
moment, but Steve says "Stop!", and Tony know what that means,
he's not a complete ass hole, he can go slower if Steve wants,
maybe give him a couple minutes, he doesn't mind-- "I'm
straight!" Steve says again, and, oh. Oh. Crap.
Tony stares at Steve for a long moment -- Steve, who is looking
absolutely horrified, Steve, who is wide-eyed and shrinking away
like he's been burned -- dumbfounded by the unexpected change of
events. Steve is straight? Since when? "What the ever-loving
f*ck?" he says, irrationally angry at Steve -- no, not
irrationally, this is perfectly rational, Steve's been leading
him on for two hours! "You're straight?! ...You bought me a
drink! You walked me home! You... you wore a f*cking suit, for
Christ's sake! You did all that and you're straight?!" Tony
scoffs, crossing him arms, shaking his head. God, has he
mentioned? He is drunk, like, way too drunk for this. God, this
is stupid, this is so f*cking stupid, Tony can't believe
this.

Steve lowers his hand as Tony starts to speaking, seeing
that the man was obviously upset. Okay, sh*t, this was all such
a big misunderstanding. He only hopes he hadn't hurt Tony's
feelings or anything, but he just didn't-- he wasn't-- a
relationship wasn't something he really wanted right now, nor
did he want a one-night stand, or to be doing anything sexual or
romantic with a guy. He's not interested in men, and seriously
doubts he ever will be. He's not the type of guy to look at
another guy and think about how hot they were, he was the type
of guy who looks at another guy and admires how they keep
themselves up. Nothing more.
Tony goes on, explaining why he'd thought Steve was gay, and
they all did seem that way, but not if you looked at it
rationally. "I bought you a drink because it's your birthday,"
Steve begins, wanting to make sure Tony understands were he's
coming from. "I walked you home along with everyone else because
I was the only one who was fairly sober, and I wore a suit
because had had no idea which bar I was going to, plus suits are
a little less than half my wardrobe! Button-ups make up the
rest!" he explains, running a hand through his hair, still
shocked that Tony had taken things the way he had, kissing Steve
and thinking he could sleep with him.
Yet, there's still one more thing Steve wants to make clear.
"Listen, Tony, we can still be friends if you'd like that. I
think you're a great guy, and I also think it'd just be best if
we sort of... you know, forget about what just happened." "God
knows I want to," he adds in his mind, wanting to erase the
memory of stumble brushing against his skin and harsh lips
pressed against his. It was nothing Steve's ever experienced
before, and he as sure as hell never wanted to go through it
again. Why didn't he just go home with Bucky instead of
following Tony, he guy he'd just met?

{:: T O N Y ::}
Tony merely rolls his eyes as Steve tries to explain
-- no matter how he puts it, he had been -- he had been, like, a
schoolgirl with a little crush, grinning and blushing and
laughing and being gorgeous, and Steve is so gorgeous, it's not
fair, it's not, especially because he's straight and probably
homophobic, by the way he's acting, jeez (and there is a very,
very small part of Tony that know he's being stupid, but that
part has been drowned in liquor and doesn't get much of a
voice). And then, Steve says it, possibly the one thing that
shouldn't ever be said when it comes to Tony Stark and
relationships: "I also think it'd just be best if we sort of...
you know, forget about what just happened."
Tony's face goes curiously blank, and he looks up at Steve,
turmoil in his eyes.
"I'd still like to be your friend, I you want," Pepper says in
his head.
"Pep, did you hear a word I just told you? I've never-- never
even said that to my own mother, how can you think that all I
want to be is your--"
"I know what you said, Tony. But I think it'd be best if we
just... maybe, forgot about that."
When Tony laughs it's oddly high-pitched, bordering on
hysterical. "Oh!" he exclaims shrilly, grinning ear to ear,
"Yeah, great idea! That'll solve everything! How about we just
forget about all that, and laugh it the f*ck off, and you can
have a nice walk home, ass-hole!" In the second before he closes
the door, Tony's face falls to something angry and sad and
generally crushed, but it's gone in a moment, disappearing
behind the frail wooden door. It slams against it's frame, right
in front of Steve's nose, shaking violently as the lock hits
