He didn't. At all. I even triple checked that it got to him.

It...it was probably a mistake inviting him anyway, but invited
our mutual friends so it felt wrong not to.

Yes, The Nate. I don't know? I mean I understand that sending
the little "With Regrets I Can't Attend" card in the invitation
would have been a lot given the history I kind of expected at
least an email. It's not like we're friends, we're not, it's not
like the breakup was clean, it wasn't. Maybe I was stupid to
expect anything considering I only invited him because I invited
his brother, his surrogate dad, and his closest work
colleagues...who are all coming by the way. I didn't even tell
Ollie I invited him....

Don't be sorry, you're right. Unless it was your ex when you
were like 15 or they're married with 6 kids, it's just a bad
look. I mean it's not like Ollie doesn't know about Nate, I mean
the basics. You don't exactly wax poetically about how much you
loved your ex to your new significant other. I just figured if
Nate did show up Ollie might recognize him from the pictures he
aggravatingly found in a chest in my attic and I could just say
'oh I guess he's his brother's plus one' if he mentioned it at
all.
