Racers?
By: NinjaTurtlexxx Date: February 1, 2020, 12:05 pm

Any other drivers out there? I've always been a big racing fan
since I was a kid and grew up playing Pole Position, Outrun and
Ivan Stewart Racing in the arcades. The first true racing game
I remember having was the original Formula One game on the
PlayStation. I actually started playing that before I had ever
even watched an F1 race on TV and I was blown away the first
time I watched the races and I already knew every bit of the
every track! I was a die hard Gran Turismo fan all the way
through GT4, but while waiting...and waiting...and waiting for
GT5, I was gifted an Xbox 360 by my brother-in-law and found
Forza and never went back to the PS. Just like with COD I don't
play as much as I'd like anymore...damn work always getting in
the way...but I'm still trying to get races in on F7 and Horizon
4 whenever I can. Who else loves to race?

I liked to race as well. I played GT on PS3 for endless hours.
But its the same reason on my end, that always work getting in
the way, and I have to decide which game I play when I have
"free time" to play.
On my X-box I tried Forza ( a longer time ago...), but couldnt
get into really.
F1 is not my thing, so...

In the same boat
The only spare time that I have to play, I tend to just go with
COD
I too went through GT etc until I discovered online, and got the
COD but
Used to play with a bunch of guys in US of A, and we moved on to
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, now that was fun

I like some racing. Does Mario Kart count? ;D
For real though, I couldn't ever really get into simulators, I
usually end up oversteering constantly and ping-ponging down the
track cause of realism. I prefer arcade like Need For Speed, and
GTA lol. I may however look into this Forza. I remember playing
Ridge Racer on PS1 back when I was in school. That was an
alright game.
Do you use a steering wheel?

Love them, have a number of games including Gran Turismo Sport,
Dirt Rally 2.0 and F1 2018 and a Playseat Evolution with a
Logitech G29 Wheel and pedals :)
Don't get to use the seat as much as I'd like because it
involves major re-structuring of the living room to get it in a
good position :-\

I am not really a racer fan. I kind of follow the F1 but that is
it. But I really like Forza.
My first Forza was Forza Horizon 2. I liked it. Got then Forza
Horizon 3. Wow! A big step forward in development. Much nicer
graphics, better environment. The introduction of the off-road
races in the Australian environment was good. The racing event
against the train and the boats is good. When I unlocked the
Goliath race and I first ran it I ended up in awe. The Auction
House, the Workshop, all that extra environment around the races
gives the game a nice touch. And better yet, the game did not
crash or kicked me out of a race due to connection issues!
Forza Motorsport 7 is good. Not an open world. The races are
good.
Forza Horizon 4. Good. I have to drive on snow for several
months during the year in real life so the introduction of
seasons is a good feature. You can notice how other drivers are
not used to drive on winter conditions. The first DLC was good.
My interest faded after having completed that DLC and getting my
viking attire.
Although I seldom play Forza now, Forza Motorsport 7 and Forza
Horizon 4 earned the right to still be in my SSD. ;D

Mario Kart most definitely counts! ;D I used to LOVE Crash
Team Racing...it was one of the best games to play with my sons.
I'm really bummed that MS never came up with an equivalent for
the XBox.

I've got the G920 wheel and Playseat Challenge. It's much more
portable, but when I do set it up it usually stays there until
my wife gets tired of looking at it. ;)

I leave the seat in the corner of the room and count it as a
guest seat LOL
My lad usually sits on it when he needs to charge his phone.

In high school a lot of need for speeds.
Ditched need for speed when they made it that you couldn't
change difficulty. Nfs was my I don't want to play serious game.
Until then
On Xbox different Forza games. With Forza 4 (I think) I was
somewhere in the 70 or 80% off all racers won.
Mostly the long races left.
I don't have the patience anymore to play a long session of a
racing game. I need a couple of races to get in the groove of
that game.
