First thread in this forum.
Not a lot of users as of right now but when new users sign in
then there will be this thread for they to jump in if they want.
I spent the weekend doing the Reptile Camo Challenges (no
attachments) for all SMGs, revisiting them after having levelled
them all up to the max a few of weeks ago.
My question is... Why does the MP5 seem to be a fan favourite
SMG in MW? The MP7, the Bizon, the P90 and the AUG perform
better in my experience.

For any reason and I only can talk for myself. I only get
hitmarkers with all SMG´s, except the MP5. The MP5 seems to work
more what belongs to get a kill, than all other SMG´s. I´m using
other SMG´s, but for me they are all hitmarker machines. :(

I think it is down to YT and others, people see others wrecking
lobbies with that gun and think they can do the same so start
using it.
I have always found that the guns you get at start are the best
if you set them up right.
Example: the Fuck Nite (just checking swear filter) players all
wanted the scar, but for me the Kilo (first AR you get) has far
outranked any other AR in my hands.
Was gutted to get it gold as it meant I had to use something
else.

Hey all!
I used the AUG for a long time at first. In fact I used the
default class with the AUG until I had enough shit unlocked to
create my own setup. I since switched to the MP5. Seems to have
faster RoF and better accuracy. Now I'm down to just using the
AX50 and MP5 loadout.
??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-[🤔🖕<just testing the
emoticons. The ones on here don't show the emotes. The ones from
my iPad show though. Huh.

The MP7 and the Bizon have a better rate of fire and they do
more damage if I remember correctly. The AUG has a better range.
The P90 has a bigger ammo capacity but the Bizon beats all of
them in this aspect. I was killed many times while reloading
because I ran out of ammo while using the weapons with low
capacity magazines (40 rounds or less). It was vary funny, up
to the point of laughable, when I get in front of a target with
him squared in my sights but when I pressed the trigger nothing
happens. Oops! No ammo. :-) Then the target reacts and I get
killed.

I think the MP5 just gets a bad rep because so many people use
it. Hell, it's my favorite SMG. I think it's low recoil and high
rate of fire just suits a lot of people's playstyle, including
my own.

MP7 has higher fire rate but lower damage. The Bizon has higher
damage but lower fire rate. Both have slightly worse accuracy.
Bizon has slightly worse mobility, and the MP7 has slightly
better mobility. Surprisingly the AUG has higher RoF, range,
dmg, and accuracy than the MP5. However it's mobility and
control are significantly lower, which could be why it feels
more like an AR than an SMG, that and it's range. (of course
attachments can alter all this).
All comes down to what works best for you. If you can jam using
the MP7 or whatever, go with it. I could probably use any of the
smgs just fine, except maybe the p90, the MP5 just suits my
playstyle the best. I'm more disappointed in the AR selection.
Mainly the AK and Scar. Them were probably my favorite ARs in
MW2 and 3. Don't care for them on here. I seem to get wrecked by
just about everything when running either of them. It was a pain
to get the AK up with decent attachments, and didn't bother with
the scar. Previous CODs I could grab any weapon fresh with no
attachments and compete. MW seems to rely heavily on attachments
to make some weapons half decent.
