       Blueprints and Levelling Up Weapons

Blueprints are cleverly sneaky marketing tools brilliantly
designed to circumvent the promise made by the developers of MW
that they would only sell cosmetics. I tip my hat actually to
the designers that came up with this stratagem. Most people
think that blueprints are cosmetics but they are not in my
books. Cosmetics do not change the performance of a weapon or an
operator. True, a weapon without attachments still kills the
enemy but attachments alter the performance of a weapon for the
better. Blueprints are basically a weapon skin and a set of
attachments. So it is not really a cosmetic. The same
attachments you get in a blueprint can be unlocked by levelling
up that weapon. They are selling you something that you can get
for free if you invest time on it.
Tip 1: See the configuration of a blueprint you got through the
Battle Pass, or by having completed a mission, or listed in the
Store. If you don't want to buy the blueprint or you don't like
the skin or the tracers then load that same base weapon and
level it up until you unlock the same attachments in the
blueprint. There you have it, you now have the same weapon but
without the tracers (Examples: Cerulean, Blue Dwarf) and the
       skin.
Tip 2. Having a blueprint for a weapon you want to level up
gives you a head start. If you have the blueprint but you
haven't unlocked different attachments that you want to use then
load the blueprint and use the included attachments as an
advantage in your grind until you unlock the attachments you are
       aiming for.
