Matches not loading

Anyone else having this problem?
Got up this morning and it will load match to start screen and
then just stay on that ???

Never mind, after 3 hours of tearing my hair out trying to
figure out what was going on or find some info online, I finally
realised that my son had changed my MTU settings to get a quiet
lobby on GTA and hadn't set them back!!
DOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

If you don't mind, would you please ask your son why he changed
the MTU settings? As in, what he hoped to accomplish, or why he
believed changing mtu settings is ever a good idea? I'm not
harping on the boy, we all make mistakes. I'm just curious as to
what information is floating around out there pertaining to MTU
settings.
As you know, messing with MTU settings is super highly
inadvisable.

Dropping your MTU settings from 1500 to 800 while playing GTA
online means that 9 times out of 10 you will get put in a solo
lobby so you can go about your business without getting blown up
all the time.
We have used the method since time immemorial LOL, just helps if
he remembers to change it back!!

Ahh, I see. My apologies for kind of insinuating that your son
did something dumb, but if he had messed with the MTU settings
to get an advantage in CoD, that would be a different story.
Remember how, every year, it seemed like the MTU discussion came
up amongst various circles, like clockwork? To this day, I
believe 99% of the people who posted on the old forums,
specifically in regards to MTU settings(which only gets brought
up because some noob saw Scumpi, or Korean Savage ((everybody
donate just one dollar while I drive my brand new Corvette
around, while living in luxury, so I can help my Dad get better
without having to pay a dime out of pocket- yes, he did that.
Tears and all)) and noticed ppl didn't shoot back at them 90% of
the time, so people assumed it had to do with MTU settings. For
the record, K3 absolutely, and I say this with absolutely no
worries of being tried for slander, has 3 different tricks he
uses, but none of them are MTU related.
What he really does, is start a party with his smurf account,
which is usually level 1, to cheat the matchmaking system. Ive
seen it happen, and have a video file of him partied up with a
level 1 "friend" (his Smurf account), then will back his smurf
out, thereby getting easy lobbies.
Also, he has been caught reverse boosting more than once, but
not by me, so the authenticity of that claim can not be
verified, but anecdotal evidence, while not empirical, is still
evidence.
Another way of cheating matchmaking is to play a match on the
legit account, and take note of who did the worst. Just continue
to session join all of the terrible players, and let SBMM create
an amazing lobby.[obby.
Last, but not least, if he doesn't use his Smurf account, he
lobby shops like a bum on the first of the month. I don't
believe he and I live close together, but I have been put in
lobbies with him a handful of times, and he's actually not that
great. He's good, but not great.

Well, as this thread proves, having a different MTU setting just
means you can't play COD LOL.
Can't get on RDR2 online either, only seems to work on GTA which
is fine given the amount of griefers on there.

I'm hoping I'm catching you in time. I forget for some dam
reason, what platform are you in again? If you're on PS4, I'd
recommend deleting your network settings on the console, so the
name of your network disappears. I think you can just "exit
network", but don't quote me on that. After you have
successfully gotten your console off of the network, shut the
bugger down, and unplug it for 30 seconds. Upon firing up the
console, go to the dashboard, and click on networking>setup a
new network>and choose automatic for everything. We can still go
back and troubleshoot some issues, but your MTU settings should
always be set automatically.

Yeah on PS4, haven't got any issues, just had to change it back
to 1500 but didn't realise it was still lagged so thought I had
a connection/internet issue.
All good now ;D
