So what happens at band camp?
American style camps are a bit wierd for Dutch people. Here it's
maybe a week long mostly Monday to Friday.
If I can believe movies and series American camps can take
       weeks.

Women use flutes to get off apparently... ;D
I am referring to the "American Pie" movies by the way.

I don't know much about camps really. From the little I know,
yes there are camps that run for 2 or more weeks. In some of
them the kids stay in it from Monday to Friday and go home for
the weekend, go back to the the same camp from Monday to Friday.
There are other camps where the kids stay in it all the time.

We started as a 2 man squad (they never filled it) and he had no
mic. but we still found ways to communicate and stick together.

       [glow=blue,2,300]3rd Wheel[/glow]
       ==================
Its always a little frustrating when you get paired with two
randoms that know each other in real life.
I played a few games of Warzone yesterday with 2 dudes that knew
each other since the third grade (and were now adults). First
off, they would use a lot of insults (in jest) with each other.
They also used a lot of inside jokes, that only they would
understand—invoking the names of people I do not know. Another
annoying thing is how they moved without communicating. I think
one was glued to the other’s back pocket.
They were good though, I mean we came in 6th or 8th place a
       couple times.
There is another 2 friends that know each other IRL and added me
       as a third Warzone squaddie.
They exhibit the same behaviors as the other two (Joking/playful
       insults, inside jokes, etc).
A third duo I trio up with are on each other’s friendslist but
dont know each other IRL.. and one of them I have known/played
with in Free For All (and I know it sounds funny to say we play
Free-For-All together, but you tend to see the same names on a
daily basis) and he adds this other dude sometimes—but this guy
is a little too bossy and whiny. I can usually only play a
couple rounds with him. He receives zero input from anyone else.
I would like it if WZ would allow single, duo, trio and quads.
Having said all that, I dropped in by myself (the game didnt
fill my squad) and I lone-wolfed it to 6th place. In the end
game, many times you are the last alive anyway (even if you have
lots of cash, chances are it is too hot to move, and/or the
paystation is outside the final circle/in the gas).
Teams comprised of 2 IRL bros and one 3rd wheel are not ideal,
but it is better than playing with 2 randos that dont even land
       with you.

       ========
There we were, zer0-dark-thirty but where was First Sergeant?
       (“Firss-Sarn’t”)
Every so often, usually in the cold of winter, First Sergeant
would have the entire HQ Company (which, unfortunately included
Brigade HQ staff) meet at the motorpool to
       A) Clean it.
       B) Run every Humvee (HMMMV?) and an NCO sign off on the vehicle
       inspection sheet.
So yeah, First Sergeant musta slept in, who knows, but there we
all stood out in the freezing cold (normally we would either be
doing P.T. or having “Late Call” which means skip P.T./Arrive to
work at 9am due to snow.) and First Sergeant is the only one
       with a key.
After its clear we are not having a motorpool morning some Joes
(lower enlisted) began to notice high rankers get in their cars
       to leave.
And one Specialist yelled to a Sergeant First Class (E-7), “Yo
Sarn’t, are we released?” and rather than releasing everyone, he
says “Do whatever your rank can handle.” as he got in his car
       and left.
Wow, really? That was the opposite of the Army mantra In the
       absence of leadership, take charge!
I released my two Joes, and told the guy who yelled out “If you
catch any flack, tell whomever I released you.” (And I pointed
       to my nametape)
Nothing ever came of it, and we never got to find out why First
Sergeant got to miss formation, when any one of us would have
had M.P.’s knocking on our door.
