DMR's, what are they for?

I can see the point of the other gun classes in the game, but
have no idea what slot these are supposed to fill. Are they the
poor snipers sniper (in which case the design is appalling) or
the poor snipers AR (same again).
All but one are ridiculously slow and the only other exception
is the crossbow which is a bit of fun I guess.
I just can't see how anyone finds these useful.
Does anyone use them regularly and if so why?

I think your statement about a DMR being a sniper's poor cousin
is on the right track. I remember from the old forum that some
people like the Kar98k because of its sniping capabilities. I
remember playing a match in Grazna Raid where someone using a
Kar98k was mopping the floor with my teammates and me. I only
use a DMR when a challenge calls for it.

I quite like a single shot rifle
The Kar I find a bit slow though
Bit more effort than a spray and pray

I can enjoy dmr's in hc. Still a one shot kill. But able to
shoot quicker kill quicker.
IRL they've a place. In cod and multiple other games far less.
Played some cod modern Warfare remastered yesterday. I was happy
that I had the M21 as my sniper. Was able to get multi kills
that would be much harder with a normal sniper

For me, i think of them as not much different than a 725
w/slugs.
Its a shogun that fires across the map.
