So at first I thought it was the same person I kept getting
matched with..
But then I noticed they were different number/letter combos and
some had diff clan tags.
Then I thought "maybe these are bots, and someone is creating
hundreds of bot accounts"
Then I thought "maybe these are Devs?"
Then as I spoke to people in lobbies about these names, someone
said they were not bots because some of them speak over the mic.
So then I realized, after getting one of them to speak with me,
that they were not bots, nor devs, but most likely people who
had their names automatically changed, either due to it being
vulgar, or because of a bug.
The guy I spoke with said he logged in that morning and was
surprised by it--I asked what his name was before the change,
and if it was vulgar--he replied it was "LCW Glock" he said it
has been this for years and does not have any idea why it was
changed.
Now, I have seen things like "playful Foal137559" and things
similar, and it's always been someone who said they had a vulgar
name and they were reported to XBOX.
But these UCD must have been done by Actv/IW because I told this
guy he has one free Actv name change, but he said his name is
still "LCW Glock" on his Actv name.
So anyways, the mystery continues, but I thought I would put
this out there in case anyone else was noticing a lot more of
these UCD people in their lobbies (Please let me know if you see
this on PS4 or PC also, or if it is limited to XBOX)

Itīs the same on PS4. Seeing a lot of them the last couple of
days.

I'm pretty sure it's an issue with their Activision account, not
their console account. I used to have a UCD name way back when I
first joined the Activision forums during Infinate Warfare. In
my case, every time I tried to finish my account profile or
whatever, it kept giving me an error message. It's the same
account I used for CoD Elite. I signed up for that during MW3 I
think. Never went on the forums though (until IW). Anyhoooo, I
really don't know what I did to finally get it to display my
name, but I finally did after like a week or so with the
UCDlongstringofrandomnumbersandletters name.
If you ever seen the thread on the Activision forums asking
something like how to get my forum name....that was what people
were trying to get figured out, is how to get rid of the UCD
name on their account. It was like 10+ pages deep lol. There
were similar ones for every CoD subforum too. I posted in one to
share my story in Infinate Warfares forum. Never read any after
that to see if anyone actually gave a solution.

It's an Activision account thingy.
On the activision forum you would see a lot of them.

This recent tweet might be related to the situation if by
"placeholder" they mean these UCD_something names. Its timing is
not too off.

blank in their friends list. This resulted in some players
having their names changed to a placeholder name. If you are

Dpunk is right. Used to see this on the old forum quite a bit.
I think it's what Activision does when you don't provide your
own name. They give you a RNG one.
