       Controller layout preferences

What controller layout do you use?
Personally I use tactical, which switches the crouch/prone and
       melee buttons.
The reason for this is not one of choice, but is because of my
       own gameplay reactions.
When I get a bit over-excited in game I had a tendency to
accidentally push my right stick in which meant that, while I
thought I was going to take the enemy out in a hail of bullets,
I ended up wildly flailing at them with a knife while they
       calmly cut me down  ::)
One bonus of this is that because of the above tendency, I am
       now a drop-shotting GOD!!
This was another reason I didn't like BO4, because when you
dropped your gun went to the right instead of staying on target
and it threw my whole game.

I have been that guy knifing at a dude 20 feet away lol.
Happened more often on PS3. I just stick with default layout. I
do remap buttons in PS4 settings though. I put jump at R1, then
lethal at L1 and tactical at X.

I have been using the default layout since launch. I used the
default layout in Black Ops 4. I have no plans of using a
different layout unless I get a pro controller or the button
assignment change because of my Forza experience. I chose an
alternate layout that made more sense to me when I first played
Forza (Forza Horizon 2 by then), a more intuitive one. Such
alternate layout worked so well for me, and I played Forza so
much, that I always have a difficult time adjusting to the
controls when I have played other racing games. MW example: I
have a hard time driving the wheelson when I get it, bumping
around walls and getting stuck all the time. I would be calling
ground vehicles all the time if I could use the alternate layout
that I got used to in Forza! :D

I, too, run the default layout. However, I also bought the PS4
back button paddles about a week ago, so I have my slide and
jump button s remapped to the back. Left rear button is slide,
and right rear button is jump, I believe.
Before I learned how to mod 360 controllers (just to remap the
face buttons to the back, none of this rapid fire mod type shit)
I would usually use the Tactical (?) layout, where you could
       push L3 to drop shot.

I use tactical flipped. I prefer to use the R1 to fire and R3 to
crouch, the only problem is I sometimes panic drop shot by
accident so i'm going back to default flipped for a bit to get
       rid of my bad habit.

Regular as I'm to lazy to change.
Have done tactical for a while.
But than I would forget when at a buddy.
More annoying now games with other button layouts.

Iīm always on standard. I only switched R3 with down on my PS4
because I was knifing air in some CoDīs. Have no clue why this
happens, but there is nothing more annoying when you start
knifing an enemy a mile away when you want to shoot him. ::) ;D

I've got an Elite controller and it's great for Forza. I have
the 2 right paddles mapped for the up/down shifts and it's so
much smoother than using the buttons. I do wish it had more
than 2 customer layouts though. I have one set for Forza and
the other for COD, but I had a different one for Ace Combat that
       I had to overwrite.
Maybe I should switch to the Forza settings when I'm driving the
       wheelson? ;)

Several people were suggesting me to buy an elite controller due
to the amount of time I play but its price does not make sense
to me. It seems disproportionate to me. I would snatch for CAN
$150, perhaps CAN $180. I can buy several games or other
       non-gaming related stuff for CAN $ 260+!

Yeah...they are definitely not cheap. I think the original one
I have retailed for US $150, but I think I used some X-mas gift
cards and maybe had some Best Buy rewards when I bought it 4
years ago. But I also bought a charging stand for it...the new
version come with a rechargeable battery.
