Failures and Revenge [Tag: Any Twilight members]

It had been several days since Maleficent's attack had failed
and she had been forced to flee back to the Twilight. While her
wounds were healing faster than any normal person, there was a
deep boiling rage inside her that seemed to only grow stronger
over the course of time. Not only had she failed to capture a
dragon for the Dark Queen, she had also been forced to fall back
from a battle, had been badly injured, and had her hold over the
Union broken. Somehow, someone had gotten the cure and delivered
it to the people, releasing them from the cursed slumber. And
now she had lost her throne in the Air Kingdom. The truth that
she was the Black Dragon, so carefully concealed for years, was
out now and the people of the Air Kingdom had driven out most of
her guard and Twilight allies. She sat now in the meeting room
of the Twilight fortress, her body recovering. She outwardly
appeared as calm and collected as normal, but the grip of her
hand on her staff and the set of her lips revealed just how
enraged she truly was.

The shadows moved along the walls as Pitch moved through the
walls before appearing before the witch. His golden eyes showed
no emotion or so that he wanted people to believe. In truth, he
was always up to something that was his nature. "You seem
troubled." he said slowly before smirking. "The attack obviously
didn't go as planned. No reason to be upset." He looked at one
of the Nightmares came up before him, its golden eyes flashing .

Maleficent turned her head and snarled at Pitch. The dragon in
her was still full of blood-lust and ready to take out its anger
on anyone or anything. Her damaged eye, still recovering from
the wound to it, glowed a fierce yellow none the less.
"Much help that you were! Your Nightmares were useless, but what
can I expect from such creatures when their master is just as
worthless." It took all of Maleficent's control not to let her
dragon form take over. She took a breath and shot a scornful but
more controlled look at Pitch.
"What is it you want, Pitch?"

A chill came over Moses as he entered the meeting room. Tensions
were high, and they were coming from his two least favorite
people in the Twilight: Maleficent and Pitch. Moses had the
utmost respect for the Twilight and his Lady, Almathea, but he
couldn't understand why she put up with these two monsters.
Nonetheless, he greeted them as out of courtesy.
"Black, Mal. I've heard that you've just been through a tough
battle." Moses said, walking over to the Nightmare King and the
Black Dragon.

"Oh, you think my nightmares were useless do you?" Pitch
smirked. "What was i thinking to expect that you would
understand what they can do? I was wrong about that." he shook
his head. "My nightmares gave me all i needed, thanks to them, i
have every fear for almost every union member out there. So,
unless you want to try thrashing into them again, you may do
well to not call me useless or my powers." his voice turned icy
cold but remained calm.
"As more people fear them, they get stronger. I used them as you
ordered me too, if they are to blame for their outcome it is on
you."

"Honestly do you two do anything but bicker" Pi stated coming
out from the shadows adjusting her now deep red hair. She was to
be honest tired of their bickering the attack on the Union was
failure in her opinion. As she went to sit she saw Moses "Ah
Moses nice to see you again my friend" she said softly walking
up to him her eyes dancing again. Nemesis had been itching to
get out and cause havoc but she kept her under lock and key.

Pitch glanced at Pi for a moment before smirking. "This is not
bickering, i was just making a point." he replied, and stared
at the moon, keeping his eyes away from the group. "What is our
next move? I can't say that our lady would be happy to hear of
our failures."

"What you need is someone in town." Sinbad slowly came from the
shadows, his brown eyes narrowed darkly and mischievously. If
one hadn't known it could have been that he was out on "a job"
but he said nothing. "Someone who will know what to look for, a
good time for openings. I am that guy." he smirked as Pitch
glanced at him trying to figure out what he meant. "Don't
believe me....that's understandable. who would believe a
murderer." as he slowly locked eyes with Pi and shapeshifted
into her.

"Hold it, hold it, hold it!"
Moses looked up at the source of nagging voice, as a teenager
with red hair propelled down from the ceiling.
"You've already hired a street-smart independent party,
remember? ME, Jack Spicer? Freelance Bounty Hunter?"
A bounty hunter? Moses knew that the situation had to be
desperate if the Twilight had to hire a bounty hunter.
Spicer walked straight up to Pitch, and looked him in the eye.
"You're not trying to double-cross me, are you Black?"
A Nightmare leaped out of the shadows, causing Spicer to fall
backwards, screaming.

Maleficent was already close to her breaking point. Pitch had
been enough to make her already boiling rage nearly hit
critical, but the appearance of the other lower Twilight
members was just too much. Allies they might have been, but they
were pathetic and weak to Maleficent, constantly bickering over
their own problems. If she didn't silence their ramblings soon,
her dragon would tear apart everyone within several hundred
yards of her.
"SILENCE!" Maleficent said in a voice of pure power and anger.
She rose from her seat as her features took on a dragon-like
quality. Lightening crackled from her staff, arching around the
room.
"You are fools who focus only on how to better the situation
now! You squabble and fight and pretend to have a plan for the
destruction of the Union and capture of Belleldra, but in the
end nothing comes to fruitation!"
Black claws began to grip around her staff but she managed to
force them back.
"My plan may have failed, but need I remind you all that the
Dark Queen has set things in motion that will lead to our
victory? You are all beneath my contempt. There is only one who
I would view as worth my time and energy and as she isn't here
at the moment, I suggest you all explain your reasons for being
here."

Jack got up from the floor and dusted himself off.
"Well I'm here because I'm making progress in the hunt for
Belle, but I need information about the other Union members. I
was hoping that you guys would have records of known members."
Jack explained as he took a seat at the table.
Moses sighed and also took a seat, right across from Maleficent.
"I'm here because Almathea summoned me. She said that something
important was happening and she wanted me to be here."
WHACK! Moses slammed his staff onto the table, killing a desert
locust that had flown into the room.
"As you can see, I'm short on time."
