I didn't really expect to see the Epilogue of 'A Storm of
Swords' in the finale. It might not even happen next season
because the show may work better without it.
Surprisingly, I found the following article and actually agree

I think it does have a place in the storyline because I don't
think she kills Brienne. I think Brienne lives and agrees to do
what she's asked, which I think was kill Jaime. Since we know
Brienne cares about him, it would be a serious conflict of duty
on her part. Otherwise, what the heck are they going to do with
her Brienne) character? It will be very interesting to see what
happens.
I really need to re-read the books and take notes.

I'm not saying it doesn't belong in books because I liked it,
just the show - which is pretty much what the article was
talking about.
Although if that happens to be the case with Brienne, I'd rather
have Jaime kill her. But that's neither here nor there. It's
nothing but an opinion and speculation at this point. It's been
fun though.

And I'd totally want her to take Jaime out.
It is all speculation, which I'm not very good at.

TBH, I really couldn't care less what happens to Brienne. She
is one of my least favorite characters in the books and on the
show.
One thing I was disappointed with was the show's depiction of
the three eyed crow. He appears much less interesting than his
description from the book.
