What Do You Watch When GoT Isn't On?
By: Daltanyn Date: June 15, 2014, 2:57 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Aelfred started this on the DB forum; I decided to continue it
here.
The Top 5 are my favorite shows. After that, the rest are in no
particular order.
1. Game of Thrones
2. Supernatural
3. The Walking Dead
4. Arrow
5. Vikings
Grimm
Graceland
Falling Skies
Criminal Minds
Longmire
Perception
Blue Bloods
Castle
Rookie Blue
Justified
Parenthood
Chicago Fire
That's all I can think of at the moment. I really liked Camelot,
but it got canceled after the 1st Season. Such is the way with
television.

I have to wait for the DVDs to come out since I do not have
cable. (What can I say, I am a Luddite geek.) Other series I
have watched: Lost, Firefly, The Wire, Oz.

I haven't watched The Wire or Oz, but Lost and Firefly were
pretty good shows. I only wish Firefly could have lasted longer.
One season wasn't enough.

What do I watch other than GoT?
Lots of family programming since my son, Lord Gavin, pretty much
runs the main TV in the holdings. (I have to use my stern mommy
voice when I want to watch something). Mostly comedies, but
there are some dramas mixed in. Let's see.
Scandal
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Key and Peele
Archer
Workaholics
South Park
Saturday Night Live (Which admittedly hasn't been very funny)
True Blood
Adult Swim (non-Anime)
Disney
Nickelodeon
Comedy Central
Cartoon Network
WWE

Chicago Fire
Chicago PD
Iron Chef America
Hell's Kitchen
Kitchen Nightmares
Master Chef
Top Chef
Top Chef Masters

Thanks Dalt! I was beginning to think no one read that post...
:D
I'll just copy my initial list from DB for now; be back later
for more.
A few of my regular series, in no particular order:
The Big Bang Theory
Modern Family
The Americans
Once Upon a Time (but it’s wearing thin)
South Park
Boondocks
Chicago Fire (totally clichéd and predictable but I still watch)
Perception
Nurse Jackie (missed the first couple seasons)
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
24 (yeah, it’s a soap opera for guys)
Homeland (Claire Danes is annoying but Mandy Patinkin is worth
it)
Getting On (funny and real but almost too cringe-inducing to
watch)
Fargo (kinda on the fence with this one)
The Walking Dead (up through season 3 on Netflix)
Call the Midwife (just finished season 1)
Damn, didn’t realize there were so many, and that’s just the
newer ones! Anyway, do share yours, and then we can all slam
each other’s bad taste and endlessly debate when they jumped the
shark.
;)
P.S. - If I snarkily dump on your favorite show or actor please
don't take it personally; I am no great cultural arbiter and you
should take my opinions with a dump truck of salt. Have fun!
:)

Kepp, please don't let me find out you're like Randy Marsh on
the South Park episode Creme Fraiche. That is a lot of cooking
shows! (Albeit competitive, and at times
dramatic/emotional/violent.)
I like the Walking Dead. I just get scared of the zombies. It
really takes a lot for me to watch one episode. To date, I've
watched 3.

Most of those cooking shows are not on at the same time of the
year. I kind of rotate through them. Besides, Hell's Kitchen,
Kitchen Nightmares, and Master Chef are really "cooking" shows.

I don't watch the Food Channel because I'd be like Randy Marsh
in Creme Fraiche, ha ha ha.
Right, "cooking" shows.
