The only hold up is the main quest line. As long as you play
regularly throughout the day it only takes 6 days or so. I
generally use some bread at the end once I get the Obsidian
Dagger, but I always end up making more than I use each
incarnation (I have 137 stockpiled). As I said I'm planning on
rushing one incarnation (and skipping the dagger) so that's
where all that extra bread will go eventually.

I'm currently at 4 days per reincarnation. I don't use much
bread...but here's what I do:
Don't spend any talent points until 30 then spend as many points
as you need to open up the Speed talents for whatever moves you
use the most (fight, barter, spy, etc.)
Because you need command points, get into as many quests as you
can from friends and from the facebook page

Equip any speed up gear you have on your main character.
Get as many permanent peerless SS as you can (I have 16 so far),
and have 3 dedicated questers with any speed up gear you have.
Remember it doesn't matter whether you win quests in Volume 1,
you still progress through the story.
If your goal is to get the obsidian dagger and valyrian steel
dagger with each incarnation (and it should be), make sure you
run as many PtP actions as you have command points. For me the
slowest part is the 400 PtP wins for the Obsidian dagger. You
want to use your fastest and strongest action for your PtP
actions...I use fight for the maximum amount of silver, but I am
rethinking this because after the first day, I don't really need
silver. Spy may be a good idea because it's the fastest action
if you have the Foreign Diplomats from your embassy. Barter is
also nice.
Probably the most important part: Put your life on hold. My
homework and work are suffering so I can send out all my SS and
build orders all day long. I wake up a few times each night and
send out my SS. Am I nuts? Absolutely.
I am fairly new at this so I'm sure there are those who can
offer even more and better insights.

Does the "day counter" still reset when you reincarnate. That
was the reason most serial reincarnaters do it 7 or 14 days.

They apparently fixed that. I delayed my one and only
reincarnation because of this and nothing happened.

I have reincarnated twice in the middle of the 7 day reward
cycle and my position on it hasn't been reset. So it seems the
bug has been squashed.
