Well look at what happened with Free Radical Design they were in
the early stages of developing the 4th Timesplitters game and
SWBF:III but ended up getting shut down prior to the 2008
financial crisis. Bottom line its due to the state of the
economy in terms of game engines etc. this generation has come
along way but to be quite fair the tech has been paid for with
money that didn't acctually exist. Hence leading to the numerous
clusterfucks financially that lead to companies that seemed to
have longevity shutting down. In a sad way it seems to look like
the Gaming industry has gone the same way the music industry did
around 2003 where its slowly coming to less variety in terms of
choice and digital copies.

There fine:

Kinda.
If they die, volition needs to be sold to a good publisher. NOT
ACTIVISION OR ROCKSTAR. And SR4 needs to be made by volition and
the series CANT be handed over to a new dev.

If anyone were to take over Volition, I hope it would be
Bethesda... they know how to do DLC...
[/quote]
Not exactly, all the DLC for fallout 3 and NV ruins the game due
to the random lockups, crashes and lags.

Never had any of those problems. My graphics card is years out
of date (not even in production anymore) and I never had any
lagging, but my CPU is pretty boss. not the best, but it's still
considered to be very capable. Had F3 for the 360 though, so I
can't speak for the pc version of that.
Come to think of it, I've never had a crash to desktop on any of
my games unless I messed up while installing a mod, or the mod
itself had problems which caused the crash.
