THQ going bye-bye?
It seems that THQ is in a state of flux right at the
moment. The company’s 2014 game lineup has been cancelled, and
the publisher is currently trying to find a buyer.
Kevin Dent, who has been sending out a slew of tweets about the
situation, said that “THQ are offering themselves to Asian firms
to increase value!”
Games Workshop’s MMO has been canned. This was almost certainly
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Millennium Online.
Other THQ projects, such as Darksiders II, Metro: The Last
Light, and Devil’s Third are presumably still in
development.
wow, if true then karma is a bitch! however, it does suck for
the honest people who did work there :(

Bit of a shame really, THQ have given us some great games over
the years, definitely the best wrestling games.

They are doing awful in the stock market, and have been for
quite some time. From what I understand they have dropped the MX
series and are shutting down several of their offices. It's a
shame, what used to be a great company turned into a monster
obsessed with money. Say hello to the new world we live in.
Oh and to answer the question about volition... If and when thq
does shut down... volition could pull everything it has with thq
out and either look for another company or it will try to be an
independent company. If neither of those, it could be taken over
by another company or just completely shut down like its mother
company thq. volition is just thq's lapdog, without thq most
likely volition will fail.

Okay, say THQ goes out of business, and say that volition gets a
new publisher.....I was just wondering.....in your opinion, what
publisher would you trust with your volition? You know, trust
them to let them get back on the right track and have absolute
artistic freedom when it's not completely idiotic, and correct
them when it is?

This story is horrible...
I hate to see a company go down, especially a company that gave
us the magic that was SR and SR2...

If someone DID take over volition they would get rid of everyone
currently in it. Well... Depending on how it is gone about. If
volition does what DICE did, and just get the fuck out of Dodge
(I've always wanted to say that!) then of course the people will
go with it, but if it is taken over or bought out most of the
time the new company will cull the people out. Keep who they
want, or just get rid of everyone and start over from scratch.
Anyway... For sandbox games, I would like to see R* take over
volition. For anything else, I really don't even know.

Well, if R* took over volition and somehow got the rights to RF,
I could see a potential entrance into the FPS market for R*. Of
course this is all hopes and dreams, but that is what I asked.
