I honestly do believe there is some sort of God though. I just
think religion itself is fake, just a scam for power and
influence. Most of the churches at one point in time were
completely corrupt. I would say most still are.

A pissing contest? I didnt know we was peeing
but back to your story, thats terrible to hear man and that
right there is why i would understand why you wouldnt wanna
believe why you have a damn good reason not to believe and
nobodys to judge you if you resent your step-dad for doing that
shit
because that is srly messed up what he did and i know it dont
mean much now but i hate that happend to you, hate it happens to
anybody. Im glad you pulled through it and your still with us
iceman.
I didnt say it before, but while we're discussing it the thing
that happend to me when i was three my dad got drunk and ran me
over with a car :/ I dont know if your step-dad did what he did
intentionally but im sorry

First off, SORRY to hear those stories guys. That sort of thing
hurts everyone to hear...
I don't believe in a God or any supreme being but I do believe
in Good...
I don't believe in the Devil, but I do believe that there is
Evil in the world...
While I don't have "faith" or "religious beliefs" per se, I do
value the power of religion to do good. We can thank the church
for lots of badness and wars in the world's history BUT a lot of
good has come from religion too...
The church played a massive role in educating the common people
and abolishing slavery for instance...
Religion isn't all bad news, and it's not the Bible or Qu ran or
[insert religious text here] that is to blame for the evil and
bad in the world, it's some people's take on them...
There will always be greedy and evil people in the world that
are ready to exploit their texts for their own personal gain...
But on the other hand there will always be good people in the
world who will help out for the greater good...

In a lot of cases though had there been no religion there would
not have been a problems to begin with. Religion has solved
problems and it has started problems. All of which could have
been avoided.

This is the thing though...
Man created religion AND the problems...
Religion didn't cause the problems, it's the people that have
caused problems in the name of a religion that have jaded
religion...
If there was no religion, then these kind of people would cause
the same problems and then blame something else like
Nationality, Race, Social Class, Wealth, Power, etc, etcetera...

Yes, man did create religion and problems, but think about it...
How many HUGE problems would have never happened had religion
never existed? I can think of a few things.
The holocaust, 9/11 (the U.S. most likely wouldn't exist, but it
would be worth it), World War II all together, Hitler would have
NEVER risen to power and would most likely stayed in the German
Army, the Crusades, the French Revolution, the list goes on and
on.

i hate it when a person commits murder or some other heinous
shit then blames it on the devil
The devil made me drown my kids in a washing machine. It was the
devil who carved up my husband with a cleaver. It wasnt me that
took a huge crap and forgot to flush, it was the devils doing!
Im just saying.. when you do something bad, your never under a
magic spell or being possessed by demons. Everyone is
responsible for their own actions.
