Saints Row: The Third - Vehicle Cloning Guide
       By: Wisdom000 Date: December 13, 2011, 6:27 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Wisdom000's guide to Cloning and Transferring Vehicles in SR3.
There are Two methods to Cloning vehicles in Saints Row The
Third. Both methods require a Co-Op Partner.
       Method 1.
The first method is identical to the way it was done in SR2, in
that a GUEST in Co-Op can pull a vehicle from their garage, have
the Host sit in the vehicle, and then the guest will Log Out and
Log Back in. At this point the Guest has 2 options, he may
either get in the vehicle and put it in his own garage (usually
the Guest is now on a different save file, though some people
may want duplicates in their save file) or he may get in the
vehicle briefly, then get out, and the Host may now store the
       vehicle in his Garage.
In Saints Row 2, using this method, if you were careful, the
Guest could transfer up to 4 vehicles at a time either to one of
his own saves, or to the host. In Saints Row 3 you may only
transfer 1 vehicle at a time, two if you are very lucky and the
Host sits in the FIRST vehicle the Guest pulls out. Because the
game does not typically allow you to pull more than one vehicle
       from your garage.
In Addition, using this method in Saints Row 3 has an unexpected
side effect. Vehicles that have been unlocked, or DLC vehicles,
transferred in this manner, have their "Customize" and "Delete"
options unlocked... So you will now be able to customize
vehicles like the Bloody Cannonness, the Nyteblade, the Wraith,
etc as opposed to having to use the glitch to do so.... although
the customization choices remain just as limited.
There are two downsides to using this method, the first is that
it takes a lot of time, and the Host has to pay attention, not
only does he have to have his character stand around the garage
and get in vehicles while the Guest switches between accounts,
but he has to be paying attention so he can approve the Join
Game Request every time. This can be incredibly boring, and if
large amounts of vehicles are being transferred by the Guest
from one account to another, this can be a big imposition. The
other downside is that unlike in SR2, Unlocked and DLC vehicles,
which usually do not count towards the limit of vehicles you can
store, now do take up space...
Method 2 (this is the big news people)
The Second Method of cloning vehicles in Saints Row The Third is
much simpler and faster. You are still limited to one car at a
time, however, the Guest no longer has to log out and rejoin the
Host... Instead the Guest merely pulls out the vehicle he wants
to clone or transfer, then stands near the vehicle and loads
another save directly. The Character on the new save will
appear directly where the other character stood, and he will be
able to either get in the vehicle and put it in his garage, or
get in, get out, and the Host can store the vehicle now.
This Method has several advantages over the old method...
       A. The most obvious is that it takes a Guest much less time to
simply load another save than to exit the game and rejoin...
       B. The host no longer has to be anywhere near the Garage or
Character unless the vehicle is being cloned for him, or if they
are trying to do two vehicles at once.
       C. If the Guest is merely transferring vehicles between his own
saves, the Host no longer has to pay any attention at all to
what is going on... he can run around and play the game as
normal, or go off and make dinner, take a nap, play with the
cat... whatever. He won't be able to do Missions or Activites,
but he will be able to do Survivals, Assassinations, Vehicles
Thefts, and diversions... The only inconvenience the Host will
suffer is that the Guest will be Pausing the game every couple
of seconds as he switches between save files.
       D. DLC and Unlocked vehicles transferred in this fashion do not
have their "Customize" or 'Delete" options unlocked, but they DO
NOT take up space in your garage.... meaning you could have
virtually unlimited Nyteblades or Wraiths... now I doubt very
few people would want to do that, but more importantly it means
that Unlocked/DLC vehciles transferred will not count towards
the 60 vehicles limit of your garages.
The only downsides to this method are that if you are planning
on transferring multiple vehicles between saves, the host may
grow weary of the constant pauses to the game as you save and
reload, and that the DLC and Unlocked vehicles will not be able
to be deleted. Of course you can't delete them normally anyway,
but now you will have dual copies of all DLC vehicles, since
they automatically load into your garage on any save file.
Special Thanks to Gantons Most Wanted and InsoMniaC408 for
their help and assistance in discovering this.

       Thanks....
I realize to most people this isn't as big as I was hyping it...
but to people with garage OCD like me and Ganton, its bloody
       huge...
The shame is, unless and until volition gives us the option to
delete DLC vehicles from our saves, I will not be buying any DLC
with vehicles in it... sad about this....

@Wisdom000 They really should add a feature as you suggested on
the Saints Row forum, that you can swap between vehicles. To put
them down or up in the vehicles list to let your order them to
your own likeness. I would like that very much.

Really mate, it should be a no brainer....
However, if you agree with me, then the least they can do is let
us delete the DLC and Unlocked vehicles...
Please help me keep my new thread alive, there is no excuse...
and they can NOT claim that it would be game breaking or require
all that much since the options for it ALREADY EXIST and can be
unlocked when you clone the vehicle.
       Please, help the cause:

Brilliant work with this Wis have you tried this with any
vehicles like the Tanks or Bears?

I really didn't like what Vsing had to say about organizing
garages... "...it will be taken into future consideration,"
that's a nice way of saying fuck you.

Indeed, such sentences are actually used a lot by
companies...Kinda business style. And again false hope too.
