       Mass Effect

Since I don't know if anyone would call the games in the Mass
Effect series exactly sandbox, I put this here instead of in the
       Sandbox.
Is anyone else here into the Mass Effect series? I arrived to
the party a bit late with these games. I started seeing very
early stuff for ME3 early this year and it looked awesome, so I
ended up picking up ME1 and ME2 and all the DLC for both for
       xbox360. I played through ME1 several times in a row before I
dove into ME2. I just absolutely fell in love with this series.
It shot straight into my top 5 favorite game series of all,
perhaps even top three. The gameplay is quite good, but the
characters and story are what really did it for me. The
gameplay is third person shooter mixed with traditional RPG
elements. The RPG part isn't what drew me to it, I've never
been into RPG's, but in this one I don't mind it at all because
the shooter gameplay is still solid and, as I mentioned, the
story and characters are awesome and just really hooked me.
Then everything was taken to another level on ME2. The RPG
elements are streamlined, and the shooter gameplay is much
improved, and the story kicks ass. The characters from ME1 all
make a return in one way or another and continue to be
developed, while several awesome new ones were introduced as
well. I strongly recommend this series to anyone who likes
third person shooters, RPG's, or just awesome stories.
Anyway, if there's anyone else into these games, I'm just
wanting to talk about them since I'm just dying for ME3 to come
out. I think it's going to be in-fucking-credible. I'm quite
confident that Bioware will show Volition the right way to do a
       threequel.
If it's better to have this thread in the Sandbox, that's cool,
or if it's ok here, that's fine too.

I love this series from the bottom of my heart. Honestly though,
I had never picked up DLC for the first on until after I
finished Arrival for 2. I am, however, a bit iffy about the
multiplayer coming with 3. I just hope it doesn't take away from
what makes Mass Effect, Mass Effect. As long as it stays true to
its predecessors, then cool beans, bring on ME3.

From everything I've read, it's not a multiplayer in the PvP
sense, but rather a 4 player co-op mode with several maps and
objectives, similar to a Horde Mode, but possibly more in-depth,
and the way it ties in with the single player sounds pretty
exciting. I'm confident that the single player in ME3 will be
everything you'd expect and more, regardless of this new co-op
mode. Also, in case you haven't heard, people have wondered and
Bioware answered that you can achieve the best possible ending
for the single player campaign whether you play the co-op mode
or not, which is a very good thing for those who have no
interest in that new mode. Personally though, I think I'll be
playing the new co-op A LOT.

Co-op sounds really fun. Glad it's not pvp. Took me a while to
get used to the idea of Assassin's creed pvp. The game just
didn't feel right for it....until I played it of course.

Yea, when I first heard about a possible multiplayer in ME3 I
was a bit apprehensive too. Not that I don't like PvP
       multiplayer. I've played SR2's MP a ton, and RDR's quite a bit
too. I just wasn't sure how I felt about it in the ME universe,
but once I heard what they were actually doing I was excited,
and I was already ridiculously excited for ME3 as it was.

I'm watching the VGA's right now and they just showed some new
footage from ME3. It looks un-fucking-believable. And Garrus
and Wrex were in it too!
