       Dark Corners

Edited for content. It was the only scene out the planned story
of its kind, so if I continue writing it, I won't have to do any
editing. Hopefully. Depends on how it flows. Anyways, Intended
to be a horror/mystery. Off we go.
       Prologue
I awoke in darkness. A darkness so thick and black, that no
light would dare approach it's fathomless depths. I knew I was
in a room, for I could feel the icy concrete floor on my exposed
skin; hear the echoes as I – unaware of it's presence – drove my
head into the cold, dead metal of the door, making my headache
       pulse with greater intensity.

“Where the hell am I?” I said, hoping for an answer. Instead, I
       received only a question, repeated.

“Okay, think. What is the last thing I remember?” I asked
myself, but nothing came. I couldn't remember anything. “What
about my name? Surely I could remember something as simple as my
       own name, right?”

Trying to think, I stood up and started to pace around the room,
keeping my hand on the wall beside me to make sure I didn't walk
face first into the wall ahead. It felt like hours I was walking
around the room, when I realized I couldn't feel the wall
anymore. I reached out, hoping I would be able to find
something, anything to help guide me back to my corner, my safe
little island in a sea of darkness, when my feet fell from under
me. My head hit the corner of something and I fell to the floor,
       unconscious.

Flashes of thick, chestnut colored hair flowing down soft,
lightly tanned shoulders; bright, baby blue eyes that pierce
straight through to my soul, and the smell of honeysuckle
carried on a light summer breeze. They seemed almost familiar,
yet alien, like some half forgotten dream from a previous life.
It was then that I heard a voice – soft, yet firm – calling out.
I couldn't tell what the voice was saying, as if it were being
smothered by layers upon layers of soft fabric.

The voice faded away and I heard a deafening bang. As it echoed,
it erased my every thought and my eyes popped open, every fiber
of my being telling me to run, but not a single muscle would
move save for my arms to cover my ears in fear of my ear drums
busting. Another bang, louder than the first, and I was
screaming in pain, afraid that my head would split in two. Bang
after bang followed, each louder and more excruciating than the
last, and I became aware that the ground was shaking, splitting
apart beneath my feet. I started to scream louder, my
fingernails digging into my scalp, when suddenly the banging
stopped, it's echo fading away, the shaking slowed to a
standstill, and the darkness faded, giving way to a blinding
       white light.

out like a poem like Wetbizket mentioned.

Atm, I have a story outline, but MAJOR writer's block caused
mainly by heavy doses of Skyrim coupled with insomnia. So, yes I
am planning on doing more. Hopefully that will be soon. Also,
       thnx for the comments :)

Lol. I know what you mean. I got Skyrim after I got SR:TT, and
clocked 40 hours before I ever hit 30 in SR. BTW I finally have
a sentence or two of the next part. Hopefully, I'll have it
       finished by next week.

Next part! In case you haven't noticed, the longest thing I've
ever written was a short story, so sorry if they are a
little.......short, but I try to make them as good as possible.
You know, small brilliant gems. Oddly enough, that's one of the
reasons I almost failed Senior Lit. Always asking for 5 page
essays, when I could write volumes in a single paragraph. Stupid
teachers. True story btw: I wrote a 2 page persuasive essay
about persuasive essays and got 100% when it was supposed to be
a 6 page persuasive essay. Oh, and I'm going to be calling these
parts instead of chapters, since I don't feel the length is
deserving of the title of "chapter." Anyways, I'm rambling.
Side-effect of mild insomnia I'm afraid. Oh, and please forgive
any grammar errors. I've been awake for the past couple of days,
and just got the inspiration to finish this. Oh, also breast in
this case is another word for chest. There is no described
       nudity in this.
Well, without further ado, I present to you: Part 2
       “Wake up sleepy head!”
“Wha...?” I said, confused, still reeling from the ordeal I had
just been put through. I looked around, searching the room for
the disembodied voice. It looked like one of those rooms one
sees in the photo that comes in a brand new picture frame.
Everything was a soothing white: white walls, white curtains,
cool white light pouring through the white blinds on the
white-framed windows, white blankets on top of white sheets.
My eyes drifted further and I jumped out of the bed and let out
a short, but loud yell. It was her, the girl from my dream. The
same chestnut hair now flowed over her lightly tanned shoulder
and rested on her breast, catching the breeze as it drifted
through the open window, carrying the sweet scent of
honeysuckle. The same baby blue eyes, now full of worry, locked
       on to mine.
“What's wrong baby? Have a bad dream?”
“You. You're not...,” I stopped, taking in her words. A bad
dream. Yeah, that's all it was, a bad dream. “You have no
idea.” I said, sitting down on the edge of the bed. She slid
over behind me, and wrapped her arms around my chest, resting
       her chin on my shoulder.
“Well,” she said, kissing my neck, “why don't you get dressed,
and meet me downstairs in a few minutes for a nice hot
breakfast?” She paused between the last three words, working her
face closer to mine with every kiss until our lips pressed
together, her's ripe with passion, mine full of caution.
When she left the room, I stood up and walked to the closet,
turned on the light, stepped inside, and walked over to my
dresser, as if I knew by instinct which one was mine. As soon as
I opened the first drawer, the door suddenly shut behind me.
“Lily?” I called, but was surprised to hear no answer, surprised
even more so by the fact that I actually knew this mystery
girl's name. Thinking nothing more of it and chalking it up to
side effects of a bad dream, I got dressed and headed for the
       door.
I grabbed the doorknob and tried to turn it, but it wouldn't
budge. I yelled out for Lily again, but again, I received no
answer. Finally giving up on the knob, I rammed my shoulder into
the door as hard as I could, but it wouldn't budge. I tried
again, and again, calling for Lily and ramming into the door as
hard as possible. Finally, the door gave way and I was free. I
stepped out of the closet, wincing from the pain, and wondering
how a closet door could be so sturdy. As soon as I opened my
eyes, I wished I hadn't. I was no longer in the bedroom.
Something had changed, for I was now standing in the middle of
an empty street under a gray, sunless sky. I turned around to
look back at the closet, but all I saw was the black, empty room
I had been saved from only minutes before.
