SRThouses vision? mandate? whatever?

Our responsibility is to consider any and all actions needed to
restore and/or maintain the houses, furnishings and immediate
grounds/gardens
We will report and make recommendations to the managing trustee
and the manager - both of whom will be members of the group.
In particular, we intend that Hopkinson House and the Stone
House should maintain the character they had when lived in by
family. For the Hopkinson House the reasons are mostly
sentimental. For the Stone House it’s about maximizing what what
makes it special.
Anything else?

We will need to consider how to begin. Probably by doing an
inventory of all outstanding projects. The large ones could have
their own thread here. Shall we see what happens if we begin by
opening threads to see what it looks like?
Here goes....

Edie Jane, I think the vision/mandate that you have articulated
for the Housing Liaison Group is excellent. Thank you.
Two thoughts:
Should Charlie’s Committee and your Group share responsibility
for the gardens and grounds that immediately surround each
house?
I think what you wrote about the Hopkinson House was perfect.
Spot on. However, I believe we need to be slightly (just
slightly!) more flexible regarding the Stone House, in part
because it is rented primarily to non-family, and in part
because it is SRT’s largest source of rental income. Having said
that, I strongly agree with you that we should preserve
everything that is special and magical about the Stone House. It
is an historical gem.
